Re: Longer thread pages, smaller posts

As shown in the pic ranks can increase short post sizes unnecessarily if the post is short. And again avatars don't need to be removed, they can be limited in size like I proposed in the OP. Honestly this is the only forum I know of that allows large avatars, full sized sprites for ranks, and huge s...

Re: Longer thread pages, smaller posts

The idea is to make posts smaller or "cramped." Also your projects and sites can already be included in profile fields so they're just redundant. Advertising isn't a really good reason to have signatures either in general. Avatars aren't essential so they don't really need to be seen; not saying the...

Re: Longer thread pages, smaller posts

How does this make the forums more unfriendly for mobile? Wouldn't the opposite be true?

Re: Longer thread pages, smaller posts

I can agree with the avatar size but not disabling rank and signature. But I am for reducing signature size. Too many time while scrolling on a thread it suddenly stop because it changed to scroll a too big signature because of a huge picture in it. What would be lost when disabling ranks and signa...

Longer thread pages, smaller posts

I think it'd be a good idea to increase the amount of posts per page from 20 to around 30. Also some changes could be made to reduce unnecessary post size bloat: Disable ranks. Disable signatures. Reduce maximum avatar size to 100x100. Also instead of stretching posts to 100% of the screen, the widt...

Have you read The Art of War? I believe it touches on a lot of the subjects you mentioned above.
No it doesn't? It's about warfare.

I'm interested in contemporary non-fiction related to particular topics.

Bumping to keep this thread alive. Just finished a book on behavioural economics: Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness. Gonna start reading another book on economics and education soon, and I'm putting together a reading list. Would recommend downloading a PDF of a book you...

Re: What is happening in your country?

That's a dangerous game to play. Street fighting, terrorism, and general violence is not a democratic strategy and makes things much worse. You don't know what organizations or international interests could be directing the opposition and letting violent groups undermine election results is just a f...

Re: What is happening in your country?

I have no love for Maduro, the opposition, U.S. adventurism elsewhere in the world, nor any overlap of the latter two interests. That being said though Maduro is the democratically elected and thus legitimate leader of Venezuela and with the drone terrorist attack on him last year it's clear that, t...

INFJ https://www.16personalities.com/infj-personality

Just so there's a point of discussion: how would you describe your own personality compared to MBTI? The last two letters keep changing for me, but I feel in a very very general sense it's somewhat accurate.

Re: Soulja Boy

Not sure why that would be included on the console since it was all retro games so far. The handheld did have some odd additions too though so it's not entirely out of the question to have random games like Fortnite to be included.

I think it has to do with jumping to the post position first and then the page size changes because of images loading in. Not 100% sure though but yeah this does happen.

Here's what's happening in my country: Fucking Anarchy because of the government shut down. It won't be long till we get a "Real Life" Purge! It's a partial shutdown, not anarchy. That being said, ~800,000 people in government jobs are effected by it and millions of Americans are going to have trou...

Re: What kind of things call your attention on Windows systems?

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU coreli...
