Re: The "What happened to that SMBX user?" thread

Mario Jr. is the founder and longtime administrator of SMBX Brazil.

Kyasarin and Luminous did not destroy the community. Also, they're still around and I talked to Kyasarin a few months ago.

Re: Video Games Are Not Art

Art can be one's own personal expression of themselves. If your expression is an interactive experience such as a video game, the video game is art.

Re: Site Discussion Thread

This is the SMBX website. It will have a section for X2 (which may very well replace the homepage) once we officially release it.

Re: Site Discussion Thread

The screenshot contest locking wasn't my idea, but it was appropriate given the circumstances. This new part of the site was supposed to be for SMBX2. As far as I know, they're not close to being ready for us to officially release it, so the part of the site hasn't been worked on. I don't know what'...

The Eric Andre Show is incredible, definitely top 10 TV of all time for me but I don't watch a whole lot of TV.

Re: Is Nintendo Salty? Where's SMBX 2.0?

Mable, that isn't true - development was stopped before the C&D and saying otherwise implies that Nintendo is part of the reason SMBX wasn't continued by Redigit, which would be incorrect. Cease and Desists are not "we disallow you from doing this"; rather, they are "stop doing this or we will take ...

Re: Help To Write The History of SMBX (For documentary series)

I wrote the first part of that - it's a copy/paste from "The Story of SMBX" - and there is some factual inaccuracy in the section about SMB:R. TrekWeb had two periods of downtime; the first one was due to hardware failure, and the second one was because CaptainTrek wanted a break. As mentioned, duri...

Re: Help To Write The History of SMBX (For documentary series)

I never said anywhere that NSMBX was considered "next in line" for anything.

Trek's forums were created on/around August 25th, 2010, and lasted until their closing/SMBX's official discontinuation on/around April 9th, 2011.

Re: Help To Write The History of SMBX (For documentary series)

There are three things that are/have been referred to as NSMBX: - YoshisIsland's NSMBX, a program whose development happened around mid- and late 2010 as far as I know - mrgameandwatch's NSMBX, a program whose development happened (or at least surfaced) in 2011; this program featured the rotating bl...

Re: BBCode issue

So the problem is that you create two new lines but when you click the BBCode button it inserts it a line above where you wanted? I just tried it myself and couldn't replicate the issue. As a quick fix on your end I would just add 1 more line than you need. Could be your browser but I'm not sure. I'...

Re: BBCode issue

Yeah, you haven't highlighted anything. You have to highlight with your cursor the text you want the BBCode to go around.

Unless you mean that the inserted tags appeared a line above where your cursor was - not sure there's a quick fix for that.

Re: BBCode issue

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Do you mean when you click the bold BBcode button, it inserts the two tags to the left of the text rather than around the text you wanted? Generally, you have to highlight the text that you want the BBCode tags to be inserted around.

Re: Site Discussion Thread

Extensive documentation of NPCs and characters is why I mentioned the alt MarioWiki thing. [...] Yeah, and I see what you mean - at that point it was probably a bit too general. The reason why a wiki is a better option than that PDF (unless we were to make a full manual and distribute it with SMBX?...

Re: Site Discussion Thread

The "data wipeout" isn't the sole reason we don't have a wiki (I don't remember the exact circumstances of this, but still), nor was it ever planned to be an "alt MarioWiki" (thought it may have looked like that based on the progress at the time) - I probably said something related to this a while b...

Re: This is for you, Shadow Yoshi.

My username used to be Joey (my real name), and so when people quoted me it would say that. Since changing my username for April Fools Day and not changing it back, new quotes of my posts will say "Shadow Yoshi".

I may change my name back at some point. We'll see!
