The Phazon Menace Trilogy

Hello, and welcome to yet another attempt to make my SMBX episode a reality! This is the fourth incarnation of my SMBX episode, Bowser's Resurrection, and it is now different in pretty much every way.

But anyways, this is the newest form that my episode has taken, and it is a trilogy of episodes, making up one plot. Now something you need to keep in mind with this "Phazon Menace Trilogy" is that I'm completely ignoring the Metroid Prime games, so if you've played them, forget everything you know about Phazon. These episodes will play out in a chapter-like storyline where you play as Samus Aran (In true Metroid fashion) who travels through a main hub and you choose the missions to play. I will be releasing the different parts of the trilogy separately, so you can play part 1 when it's released, while I work on part 2 & 3.

Items you'll see on your adventure:

Energy Orbs Image
These orbs will heal Samus and allow her to take up to two hits from an enemy before she is defeated. While these orbs don't change her suit, it is certainly a useful item for survival.

Energy Tanks Image
Unlike other Metroid games, these Energy Tanks are effectively the 1ups or free men of the games. They might be hidden around the levels or given to you by certain characters throughout the story. The bottom line is, you don't want to miss any of these.

Varia Suit Image
The Varia Suit will allow Samus to survive extreme heat, gives her that classic orange colour and also comes equipped with the power beam.

Glacial Suit Image
This suit will grant Samus a blue suit that gives her the ability to survive extremely cold temperatures, and also comes equipped with the Ice Beam, that allows her to freeze her enemies.

Gravity Suit Image
The Gravity suit allows Samus the ability to move quickly in space and water, gives her a purple colour and comes equipped with the space jump, allowing her to float for a couple of seconds, giving her jump a useful boost.

Guardian SuitImage
The strongest of all suits, this suit is of ancient Chozo origin and in legend is only given to those worthy to be called Chozo Champions. Not much in known about it, but perhaps Samus will encounter it...

The war between the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates has been raging on for years now. After fleeing the planet Cyclosis following a failed mission, the chance of the Galactic Federation winning seems bleak. But the Space Pirates have found an ancient Chozo Construct that could easily change the state of the war, and the Galactic Federation is keen on unlocking it's power themselves...

Hey guys, I just wanted to tell you all that even though I don't have access to the episode at the moment for personal reasons as I said, I've still been able to work on other things besides the actual design of the game. So I just wanted to say that I finished the plan for the levels and main story of Part I. Since then, I've been able to start work on the plan for Part II. I've even named it, so be sure to check it out. The name might be subject to change, but it stays for now. Expect a brief plot explanation or even the title for Part III in the future. Until then, talk to you guys later.

My my... now this is what I am really looking for. A Metroid Episode in SMBX. So far this looks very interesting and I am so looking forward to the future when this SMBX Episode is on the completion. So far as I can tell from the screenshots, it looks very neat although at the first screen I can see some missing pieces inside the corner tiles.

Thanks for the feedback! I couldn't for the life of me find any corner tiles for Ceres, but I made my own and updated the first screenshot which includes the corner tiles.

I had the same problem, but i want to know shere you fouń that background? I am also makin a metroid themed episode, so to the est of lick to you as well! Have you figgued out how to make beam specific doors yet?

To answer your questions, no, I haven't figured out how to make beam specific doors yet, but I'm working on it... Never knew mudkip made a graphics pack! Either way, thank you! I found out how to make beam specific doors, except there is no code for the tail in the leaf and Tanookie forms!
For red doors, I use a random npc enemy and apply "nofireball=0" and "noiceball=1" and switch it for blue doors!

Thy all can be opened with samus if samus replaces link!
Fire opens read.
Ice freezes blue so you can throw it.
Leaf opens all but grey.
Tanookie and hammer suit opens he special blocks.
Grey doors are event based.

I have green and yellow doors i can use as well!
For me, I am using character blocks, but ice goes through the mario block and only ice, nothing goes trough the other player blocks!

Maybe we can help each other on this?
Will it use lunadll or lunalua?

Edit: You can do energy if you use Lunadll!
Edit2: you could also use a custom hud to symbolize this if you wanted!

Well well, this seems very interesting, how long are you planning to make your episode? Also, looks like you have the right eye for making metroid levels, i am looking forward to this! Also, you should fix the third screen cutoffs. But i am really liking this idea so far! :D

Looks really interesting, Metroid episodes are rare.
