restricting yoshis

restricting yoshis

hello, im right now am trying to make a smbx episode and i want to keep the black yoshi only on one level, but i cant think of a way to make mario hop off at the end.

I don't think there is actually a way to do that in the vanilla game but it might be possible using lua, I'm not too sure about that either though.
However, if yoshi is required throughout your entire level, the setup in this screenshot could work.

There's a mount filter in SMBX2 since the MAGLX3 build in the Misc. category, which removes boots, yoshis and clown cars.

If you are not using SMBX2, another way is to make an ax invisible with custom graphics, and upon death, make the player press "Alt Jump" and with a 0.1 second delay, trigger an event that turns the floor into lava. Make it trigger another event after 0.3 seconds to turn the floor back to normal.

If you stick to 1.3 or 1.4 I'd say the easiest way out is using a no yoshi warp.
