What Kind of Boss?

what are some boss ideas that arent common, but not excruciating to make? I dont have Lua or Luna or anything of the kind, and not 2.0

The theme is kinda gloomy, sandy, castle-y, so give me your best ideas!
My (now finished) Project: The Legend of Peach

Does anyone still make project banners? Mine isn't a large project or anything, but some of them look pretty snazzy. PM me if you make them, and wouldn't mind making one for me.

The only thing you can really do is take a Mother Brain, replace its graphics with something else, and use layers and events to make the battle more interesting. It's doable though

This might help with some ideas for making boss(es) using Custom GFX for them...

If its a "gloomy Sand castle" an cool idea is have falling Boulder traps(have the boulders replace Shells and have them on generation (Around 3.5 ~ 5.0 seems reasonable and have them on projectile to give them momentum and be able to slide down slopes like an actual boulder... You could use SMW if your using SMB3 Vice Versa or SMB1 perhaps) and maybe have evnironmental hazards such as foreground streams of sand to give a 3D feel to it if you want to, with no quicksand collision so the Stream would hide the player making it somewhat harder but also a fun concept.... but not overdone of course you want to be able to see the player and not overdo the streams like one or 2 ribbons seems fine forground and a few streams background would be ideal for a 3D Atmostphere on a 2D game

Well if it's a pyramid-style castle, the boss can be Boom Boom Mummies.
They will come out of their sarcophagus-es before they fight.

I probably should have been less specific and said any NPC.

Thank you everyone, I took bits from some of the suggestions and made a sorta-unique boss. Just gotta finish testing now. Which is slow because im not very good :lol:

Yeah you can make pretty much everything as a boss... with the use of layers and events SMBX can manage and such.
