Regarding shoes, I'd probably remove the "No Yoshi" flag altogether. You're making clear that shoes aren't supposed to be used in Toad Town so most casual players won't use them there, and for speedrunning it could allow for some pretty cool timesaver tricks (unless we're talking about a Lakitu's Sh...

Collectathlon episodes are actually perfectly fine IMO, as long as any% works with, say, 30 or less collectibles.

There is a problem with the graphics , the castles look like they appear as foreground instead of background , if you make them darker I think this might fix the problem. Agreed. They blend in too much with the solid bricks and it makes it hard to tell which is which. I think they're quite distingu...

After catching up with the thread, I have an opinion update about the clash. Of course it's fine if you also make the NPCs HD. Just be sure not to mix single and double pixels ;-) I still think it's easier to exchange the GFX by double pixel versions though. People have been uploading tons of 16x NS...
