Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Yeah; magma in most Mario games is a solid surface with death/harm collision. For the 3D games, it's two collision layers with the bottom solid layer being the death/harm collision and the upper layer being the graphical portion as well as what hides part of the player. (having a hard time thinking ...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

I think it would be really great to be able to return to the world map / exit the level from the pause menu, rather than exiting the whole game. If this proves too complicated with regard to hub episodes, maybe make it an option of just retrying the level. I second this. Like seriously, Sweet Mercy.

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Patch's out btw! Check the downloads page in the first post! Available as a full download as well as a drag-and-drop archive update for existing installations. The changelog has also been updated. It runs. It's super slow, but it runs. Ah, well, lolz Sounds like you need a new laptop. Mine was $250...

Mario Challenge:

Some characters, if they go off the newly made options settings stage, cannot go back on, forever bouncing off the clouds.

The patch will address issues people have had with starting the game, but I'm not sure if we can make it work for someone with an Intel Atom (Sweet Mercy) CPU (the predecessor to the Celeron).
Here's hoping, may Odinn's hand be gentle...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

So... the magic question What are the minimum requirements...? Generally anything more powerful than a celeron processor and software-based opengl, newer than 2005. Computers built for gaming in the 2010s will have little to no issues. Dunno the exact numbers. Newer than 2008, would be more accurat...

If I read correctly, the devs aren't planning for Beta 5, they're instead planning for a full release.
No more betas, that's correct.

What OS are you using?
My hardware is from 2008; that's what matters, not that I'm running Windows 7 AND IT CANNOT RUN WINDOWS 10 NOW OR EVER.

FTR, in SMBX 2 Beta 3, I had no trouble mapping my gamepad to the various game functions. None.

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

The only thing I'd not want is XInput exclusivity since I have no readily compatible XInput gamepads (my wired PowerA PS3 USB gamepad does not work at all with any XInput device plugged in and my Logitech Dual Action is wonky at best with it).

(Hueueueue...I was inquired about two games I have no experience with...) SMBX is the most recent Mario Maker I know, with Lunar Magic being the first I ever knew about. Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Aren't Nep-Enut and Gargantua Blargg just background elements with collision polys attached? (I mean in Yoshi's Island) There are quite a few of those suggestions that could be done with custom sprites, and some that wouldn't make sense in a 2D platform game...engine... I do agree with the SMB3 sun ...

I like the editor, but how do I use KEYS with locked doors in SMBX2?
Carry the key (either by holding it or placing it in inventory-depends on character) and go to the door. Press up.
