Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Would you guys be able to port SMBX2 to Chrome OS? If so, great! If not, I understand. We don't recompile. Your best bet is some form of emulation. Dunno if Wine exists for Chrome OS, but something like that. If Wine exists for Android then that should work on Chrome OS since that OS is Android-bas...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Actually, the koopas (they have a different name that I do not recall) that explode after being stomped (Mario Land 1) would be neat to see. I don't know if an existing enemy could be modified to recreate the movement behavior of these, but...

SMBX 1.3 was made in VB6 so i don't think that is possible.

So far there is documentation only for blocks (and npcs), but eventually we plan to create a documentation for all of them.
Does it include documentation for thetechx.ini so that we can remap game functions EXTERNALLY?

Re: New Super Mario Bros. X

So, I see a settings file, but I do not understand the values. As it stands, trying to remap the gamepad is causing the entire game to go ballistic, and unresponsive because the remapping logic is... Eh. Okay, just send me a gamepad config where the following values are applied: Hat Switches = dpad ...

Re: New Super Mario Bros. X

In the meantime, my potato PC can run SMBX 2 Beta 3 (and yes, can change inputs no problem), but this and Beta 4, nope.

Well, maybe the in-game portion would run fine, but the default button mapping I don't want, thanks.

Controls.ini/.conf (some form of external input configuration file-a must) For those that struggle with remapping the gamepad because it doesn't accept input properly, YEAH LIKE ME. IT'S BECAUSE OF THIS I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO EVEN CONTINUE PAST THAT AND NO I DON'T USE THE BLEEDING KEYBOARD. I'm not...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Yeah; magma in most Mario games is a solid surface with death/harm collision. For the 3D games, it's two collision layers with the bottom solid layer being the death/harm collision and the upper layer being the graphical portion as well as what hides part of the player. (having a hard time thinking ...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

I think it would be really great to be able to return to the world map / exit the level from the pause menu, rather than exiting the whole game. If this proves too complicated with regard to hub episodes, maybe make it an option of just retrying the level. I second this. Like seriously, Sweet Mercy.

Patch's out btw! Check the downloads page in the first post! Available as a full download as well as a drag-and-drop archive update for existing installations. The changelog has also been updated. It runs. It's super slow, but it runs. Ah, well, lolz Sounds like you need a new laptop. Mine was $250...

The patch will address issues people have had with starting the game, but I'm not sure if we can make it work for someone with an Intel Atom (Sweet Mercy) CPU (the predecessor to the Celeron).
Here's hoping, may Odinn's hand be gentle...

So... the magic question What are the minimum requirements...? Generally anything more powerful than a celeron processor and software-based opengl, newer than 2005. Computers built for gaming in the 2010s will have little to no issues. Dunno the exact numbers. Newer than 2008, would be more accurat...

If I read correctly, the devs aren't planning for Beta 5, they're instead planning for a full release.
No more betas, that's correct.
