Re: Perfect SMBX Screenshot Thread 10

well, it looks pretty nice... but isn't it going to look a bit weird in gameplay, considering maps are supposed to have a top-down perspective? unless you've replaced the default player graphics, i guess.

Re: Beating Every Single SMBX Episode: World 12 Patches

Alright so I patched a part of the world map in this episode and apparently the entire world map broke right after that. Tiles randomly started dissappearing and random paths in future worlds opened up. My only theory is that there's so much stuff on the world map that somehow everything overflowed...

How I fix the effect with Lua?
I mean when I attack an NPC when it is moving left, everything is ok.
But when I attack the NPC when it is moving right, the effect is broken.
can you please post the npc and effect graphics?

Re: SMBX Tileset Compiler and Separator

Now if only we had a tool that made importing graphics faster. Maybe then I wouldn't be so afraid to make huge spritesheets Hey sorry for replying after so long. I've thought about this for some time and got to the conclusion that a perfect importing tool would impossible , or at least difficult to...

When I got to know this in Penguin Peak I was sometimes "stuck" on the platform, I was standing on it and the springboard sound was perpetuously playing, which caused a few irritations and pit deaths
This should be fixed now.

I've also updated the level.

I tried doing it and it did absolutely nothing. However the problem has been solved. I can just export a larger screenshot.
have you tried pressing fn + f12? some computers are quirky with function keys.

Re: [NPC Pack] Bumpties

These are pretty cool. Do they bounce you back when you hit one? Yeah they do. I'm going to take this opportunity to say that if you ever feel disastified with their bounce, you'll need to change the player's runspeed like so: function onStart() Defines.player_runspeed = [whatever number you want] ...

[NPC] Bouncy Platform

Basically a clone of the SMW platform, except it lets you bounce on it instead.

(hint: you can make the sliding one to never stop sliding by putting "neverstopsliding=true" in its txt file. this is the normal behavior if it's in a generator)

Re: [Mountain/Ice] Penguin Peak

I've just ended up making everything easier. I've also added a checkpoint after the first section (so you don't have to repeat the tutorial) and tried to mitigate the problem with the pits.

Re: [Mountain/Ice] Penguin Peak

As of now, I like the segments, challenges and aesthetics, however I died many times upon exploring them, so an early checkpoint near the second dragon coin plus a checkpoint after exiting the cave would be really good. I don't know... the level isn't super long and the beginning is almost too easy...

[Mountain/Ice] Penguin Peak

This level took me a while.
  • Number of exits: 1
  • Has dragon coins: Yes
  • No character filters
  • No powerup filters

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

ah, sorry, i didn't even read the error message.
if you're missing a dll, then it's not a problem with the vc redist (i think). did you try reinstalling smbx? it should install any required library too.
