How would I synchronize the animations of NPCs (i.e. Coins) to a global timer, instead of order loaded. The SMB1 coins had synchronized animations in the original game, so I want to replicate that.

Is there some way for me to sync the animation speed of an npc with the universal animation speed of blocks? No matter what I try, the npc animation is always either too fast, or too slow. :/
Also how do I figure out the frame delay from the frame speed?

You could draw over all blocks of an ID with lua's Graphics.draw function... no clean way to do it natively at the moment, but I could make a library for it for the time being... Is there a way to make an animated ? block that has 6 frames? It doesn't seem possible to change the frames or framespeed for the blocks in the game.
