could it at least be changed to 128x128? that's usually my go-to which works on everything and generally looks nice.

I'd rather not have to resize like every avatar picture I have on my PC just because of like 3 pixels

if I don't have big problems to complain about, obviously I'm going to complain about the smaller problems, and I think the friendly npcs just don't help with the vibe of the level at all, therefore they're unnecessary.

Yeah I'll have to second that more checkpoints idea, this level is far too long to only have one checkpoint. The wave eeries at the sticky block section, the part where there's 3 of them in a row, I have no idea how to avoid taking damage there. Also, the eeries in general tend to be a little bit ha...
