So, assuming the workaround works, there's also a new update.
Changelog:
1. Gold Mario/Peach/Toad/Wario/Silver Luigi will turn back to their fire forms after emitting burst particles.
2. Silver Luigi now emits silver particles.
3. Gold Flower now has shiny particle effects.

I pushed another update, which should be supposed to fix the problem. I still can't happen to reproduce the bug in any way, so please show a GIF of the bug in action, otherwise I cannot fix it at all.

By the way, I found the proper fix for the Koopa clown car disappearing when Bowser attempts to enter into it. Yeah, this source code is pretty much useless at this point, apart from being used as a reference for SMBX2 and maybe allowing PGE Engine to be developed accurately.
