Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

So, uh... I'm going to ask something a little bit wacky. Is there any known way to keep an NPC in an active, functioning state if the player is not present in the same section?

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Just a quick update - it appears that everything just kind of started working again out of the blue, I didn't actually make any changes to the levels themselves or resave anything. Still have no idea what went wrong in the first place.

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

For reference, the levels in which I encountered this bug were lvlx files originally saved in the MaGLX3 build. If the lvlx format changed between versions, I might try resaving the entire thing in the new version when I get home and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks!

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

PGE per-NPC attributes seem to be borked. Setting id on a star coin, volley on a bowser statue, trail size on a fire snake, active on a line guide platform, etc., doesn't seem to do anything. Paratroopa and cheep cheep new behaviors seem to be okay though.

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Access it in what way? If you want to detect the event you use function onEvent(eventName) if eventName == "whateverYourEventNameIs" then ... end end If you use onEventDirect(Event eventObj, string eventName) you can get the name field from the event object, but it doesn't look like there's an easy...

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Silly question. Is there a way to access SMBX event fields from within LunaLua, such as the name of the fourth event in my level?

Re: SMBX2 MAGLX3 Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Hello, this update got me to fire up SMBX again. I've messed around with Lua before this though, and I have a few questions. Are there other patches currently planned for this release? I remember hearing talk that this most recent patch was going to be the last one. Would it be useful when reporting...

Re: LunaDLL - SMBX Extension Module

Yes, LunaDLL only works with the ASMBXT executable. A few levels do use It in the game, and they're certainly worth checking out.

Re: The Golden Palace - Community Contest 6, 2nd Place

The Golden Palace... has a lot of good ideas, but the big issue is that it tries to make a huge, epic level in something not built to make huge, epic levels. That doesn't mean it's not a remarkable feat - the design and attention to its Super Mario Bros. 2 inspiration and the aesthetics themselves a...
