In that case you must avoid the error through level design. I spent a couple days trying to debug the fighterfly bump instance with no good result other than avoiding the code that triggers the error. I suspect this one to be similarly obnoxious.

Not quite sure what you mean, but every space on the player spritesheet grid is 100x100 pixels large, so there seems to be plenty of room.

They accomplish the same goal of changing the render priority, but the foreground flag is a lot more limited.

No? The foreground config for NPCs is a boolean which toggles between priorities -15 and -45 for most. The priority config for BGOs is for BGOS (not NPCs), is a number (not a boolean) and lets you specify the priority freely. Also you probably shouldn't have bumped a thread more than a year old. The bump is no issue cause they also experience the problem. But yeah, your RAM is insufficient and SMBX cannot allocate enough resources to load the additional resources that happen when graphics from a new section are loaded, ...

The multi-submission rule was kept around for a while to see if it would help deter people making ultra long levels but in practice people just submitted a larger number of ultra long levels. Well, the ai file was in the ai subfolder because it's common convention to keep all the shared AIs in that folder, but I guess changing the folder structure and the necessary require calls works too...
