Re: Super Mario Enigmatic 2: ReNovated (SMBX2 PAL)

Currently extracting the contents of the zip file, it seems that the episode still makes use of .GIFs for graphics (e.g. the blocks appear to be gifs). As a result the total size of the folder is quite a bit larger than what it could be. Anyway, if the difficulty has been lowered then I'll probably...

I can see you improved a lot over your last episode, the puzzles seem a lot more interesting and unique than the in the last game. Well done.
Thanks. The first episode was more of a platformer anyway.

The download has been updated. A total of twelve levels were hotfixed or slightly changed.

Re: Should clips be removed from SMBX?

I'm not sure if it's considered clipping, but in my opinion, if the player is carrying an npc, walks next to a block and releases the npc inside this block, the npc should always get destroyed instead of illogically teleporting nearby. The shells for example already get destroyed in this case, but m...

Re: Super Mario Enigmatic 2: ReNovated (SMBX2 PAL)

Really digging the new world map and organization. Maybe its because I didn't download PAL, but in regular SMBX2 when nearing the end of the intro level, some text boxes appear 2wice in a row and it continues to do so until exiting the level. This definitely does not happen on PAL. Anything earlier...

Re: Super Mario Enigmatic 2: ReNovated (SMBX2 PAL)

I'd like to point out, that the episode also works on beta 3. Just much smoother on PAL, which is why it's recommended.

Yup, will be tested again when beta 4 is out.

Have you tried onTickEnd?
Yes, same result. From what I see, the lua line seems to work on effects that are 64*64 but not on effects that are for example 44*48 or 20*18.

Is that line in onTick/onTickEnd?
Yes, onTick. If I put the height to 0, the effect can't be seen. So the actual command works. But no height value seems to make it look correct.

Re: Messed up GFX effects on smbx2 PAL

Bumping this thread. Does this lunalua workaround not work when the NPC size has been changed in the npc code? I have an npc with the size 20*18 and the effect is still somewhat off even when setting the animation width and height with lunalua. EDIT: Actually it doesn't seem to matter. Some NPCs wor...

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Note that since some moment all sections counting at 0 instead of at 1. So, the first section is 0, the second is 1, etc. Didn't you confused? Please, avoid using of MP3 format in future (it's just BAD and now legacy), the best alternative is OGG (or OPUS): it has better quality with better compres...

I beat that screen from your first edit by dropping the bomb on the spikes, and then using it as a platform to reach the blue switch.

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Can you attach your level file where this happens? (no need resources: the file itself only) Are you sure was the event triggered correctly? I think this is just a difference between beta 3 and PAL. I have a custom mp3-file in the level in the section settings. The option "Reset to default" makes t...

Re: Super Mario Enigmatic 2 ReNovated (Open beta, download available)

Thanks a lot for your bug reports and the review, 8lue Storm. Some of those were already fixed or reported by TheNewGuy, many of them were new. Currently, in addition to fixing the remaining bugs, I'm battling to get this episode to work with SMBX2 PAL so that a bigger audience who no longer have be...

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Has anyone noticed, that once you trigger an event that stops the music, the music can not be turned back on again? "Change to default" or "Change music to" options don't seem to work in the events.

Correct. After fixing that one there were two more. But it's all good for now. Appreciate the quick help a lot!

The error is in line 11 of leveltimer.lua in your episode's 31 folder.
I thought so, but that line merely defines a new variable:

local secondsleft = 300; --The amount of seconds left.
