Characters in an Episode

Hi, I'm making an episode that will feature more than five characters. I was wondering if it's possible to add them to the character select screen instead of just a level. I do know it would require LunaLua. Is this possible or is it just restricted to one level only?

Major Gameplay Problems

Hi, I'm testing my levels in the SMBXLauncher on the Windows 8 platform. However, I'm running into some difficulties. I'm running into issues such as koopas dying when I touch their shell, coins blocks not showing coins, starman/LunaLua not working (even though the code is correct, and in the right ...

LunaLua - Level Count

Hi, I'm building an episode which will contain a large number of levels. I know the limit for the level count is normally 400, but is there a way to modify this using LunaLua? I fear I may run into a problem while creating the world map and bump into the level limit. Help is appreciated; thank you i...

LunaLua - Switch Palaces and Custom GFX

Hi, I was wondering: is it possible to create a switch palace using LunaLua that replaces blocks in every level? Is it also possible to create a level that can't be entered after it is completed? I was also thinking about using custom GFX for every level. Is there a way to code GFX for a world inste...

Re: Sound Files

Ok, I've made a folder named after my level, labeled my .ini 'sounds', and the format is as follows: [sound-88] name="Zelda Grass" file="voiceclip.ogg" Is there a reason it's still not playing via event? I have the voiceclip.ogg in the same folder (level folder) as my .ini. Is the problem occuring b...

Sound Files

Hi, I need a bit of help with some sound files. I'm trying to replace zelda-grass.ogg in a custom folder for my level. The folder is named after the level, and I named the replacement sound file as zelda-grass.ogg in the folder. The file as replacement is also an .ogg file. I'm attempting to trigger...

Needing Help With Animation

Hi, I'm creating a cut-scene. I'm fairly new with creating and animating GFX, so I'm running into a few problems. I'm trying to animate a sprite with two frames, so it should be relatively simple. It is frozen to where both frames are on display and do not animate. I'm using npc-2, and the condition...

Re: How to?

Sadly, there is no way to make a custom conveyor belt in SMBX as far as I am aware of. However, as it was already mentioned, there are SMB3 conveyors in the NPC tab. It's possible that you could re-texture the conveyor belt as the same frame for each, but it would be slow. There is also no way to ch...

Re: Episode Files are invisible?

For my solution, try searching from the "My PC" folder. You must search the title of the episode or level. It takes a while, but you can access it (at least this has worked for me). However, I'm not sure if there's a way to remove them from the level editor. Also, I think the files come pre-loaded b...

Level Appear SFX

Hi, I was working on my project, and had a touch-to-detail thought: Is it possible to play a custom sound effect when a level opens, or appears? More or less, I mean a specific level. If so, how can it be done? :?: What I want to do is like making the sound effect for finding Bowser's castle in New ...

Re: Help please!

Yeah, I have the same problem too. However, if you search from the "This PC" folder, it will eventually pop up, as long as you type in the name of your episode's world folder. This way, it will work, although it may be a bit tedious.

Graphic Creating Program?

Hi, i'm new to creating custom graphics. I'd like to know what program I should use if i'm working with SMBX. I've tried using MS paint, but the gif file (What SMBX uses) always reduces quality. So, what should I use? Any suggestion would help!

Re: Icy Aqua Volcano Tilesets

Very bright in color. I would recommend darkening some of the tiles a bit, because it seems to have a very low contrast. Also, as bossedit8 mentioned, the colors are very similar. Either way, I like the what you have done here, or at least the theme. It's pretty good for your 5th set of GFX.
