Re: Nickelodeon vs Cartoon Network

My experiences with these channels are probably completely different than most of you, because I grew up watching them during the late 90s and 2000s, and really haven't watched either channel much (except for Regular Show) in the last nine years. I'll just post some of my recollections of both chann...

Re: Cartoons that went from Good to Bad

Just a friendly reminder that The Simpsons, if you count the Tracey Ullman shorts, is 30 years old this year. It was really groundbreaking and innovative for being one of the only cartoons aimed specifically at teens and adults, so the early seasons command a lot of respect, in my opinion. But it's ...

Re: Asteroid Mining: Fortune or failure?

Asteroid mining is an interesting idea, but I don't think it's remotely feasible at this point in time. Hell, there's places on Earth that may hold enormous mineral deposits, but are mostly untouched because they're so remote that the logistics of mining (transporting equipment and workers, providin...

Re: What is the worst sickness you had when you were younger?

Last year, around Halloween, I got a pretty bad staph and strep infection that left me feeling like garbage (headache, fever, nausea, fatigue) and with yellow liquid seeping from an infected scrape on my knee and pustules erupting all over my limbs. I went to the doctor and got a round of antibiotic...

Re: Ninth planet

I was taught that Pluto is the ninth planet as a kid, just like my dad, and his dad before him, and gosh darn it, it will always be the ninth planet as far as I am concerned.

Re: What is your least favorite cartoon of all time.

The worst cartoon ever made, period, is Nut Shack. The animators are perverts who feel Hanna-Barbara cartoons are overbudgeted. Fanboy & Chum Chum How did it win five fucking Emmys Awards? Uh, I don't know. I thought it was a really stupid, pointless cartoon, designed to induce ADHD in kids. Here's ...

The trailer's intriguing enough for me to see it once it comes out. I wasn't a fan of Cars 2, but I'm hoping Cars 3 will be good.

Re: Movies on film vs Digital movies

Wow, I had never heard about that incident. Even more insane that the entire movie was remade in 9 months. Though that isn't really a case where film would have saved anyone, since the movie wasn't in any condition to be shown.

Re: What is America's worst social problem?

She just plainly said "No", and I just decided to call bolagna on that one because everywhere you look in the US, people are getting shunned for their race. True, but that's probably the case for anywhere in the world and it's not just racism, but prejudices towards others in many forms. Countries ...

Re: What is America's worst social problem?

Americans are so narcissistic. There's so many movies, like London Has Fallen for one, that are just meant to make America look great. That movie was directed and produced primarily by people who aren't from the U.S., so it isn't really a good example to cite, America is arrogant, selfish and someh...

Movies on film vs Digital movies

Do you have an opinion on the film vs digital debate? 35 mm film has been the worldwide standard for displaying movies in theaters since the 1890s, but most theaters have been converted to digital projection. Some people would argue that film has a more natural look than digital (and it can have bet...

Now you need to add Debbie Reynolds to the list. :(

I watched Singin' in the Rain for the first time a few weeks ago, which was one of the first movies she appeared in. She was so pretty back then.

Interestingly, generational differences today are far more pronounced than throughout much of history - owing to the increasingly greater advancements in and availability of tech, and abundance of information. Go back a few hundred years and world events and tech nology were less likely to define ge...

Re: Is Luigi Mario's little brother? Or his twin?

They're twins and Mario is the older brother, although with twins that's just a technicality. And their heights are irrelevant to their birth order; my brother, who is four years younger, is slightly taller than me.

Jungle Hijinx in DKC
Yoshi's Island 1 & 2 in SMW
Vegetable Valley Act 1 in Kirby's Adventure
N. Sanity Beach in Crash Bandicoot

Really, the very first level or two in a lot of platformers could be considered one of the easiest levels ever.
