You need a program to edit the script with. VS Code or Notepad++ are good options.

Re: lunalua warning every tick causing code to not work?

It means you've used onNPCHarm twice, just like the error says. You can't use more than one of the same handler in the same file.

Re: Resize backgrounds

That's... not true, Wohl. 1.3 won't resize things to be larger than their original image size automatically. BGO right, background pictures can I mean. The only condition: background's height should not be lower than 600 pixels, otherwise it will glitch. True. 1.3 can resize section backgrounds, bu...

Re: About the .json files

.json files are just data storage, they don't do anything by themselves. A few are used by npcs and such to supply additional data to the individual npcs, which can be set in the editor, but those need to be set up using the editor .ini files to work.

so it seems the "Timer" command in local npcSettings doesn't actually do anything.
That suggests either the NPC was set up wrong, or your npc.txt was set up wrong.

As for the invalid image, that just means that "bubbleImage" has tried to load a file that doesn't exist.

Re: Camera control help

Hrm, xOffset should work just by adding it to the queue like you did... You can also assign any object with an x and y coordinate as the "target" in a queue call. Not really sure what's wrong there... (though 10 is quite small - it's less than a third of a block's width, so maybe that's th...

So these three packs are giving me a hard time with removing PNPC:
Generally, any time you see "pnpc.wrap(something)" just replace it with "something", for a quick and dirty fix.

For example:

local v = pnpc.wrap(w).speedX

would be replaced with:

local v = w.speedX

Re: Help making world-less episode.

(technically it's a workaround too because you don't change the internal workflow of the game to make the true level resuming, etc.) What are you talking about? It's not a workaround, it does absolutely change the internal workflow by offloading level loading to Lua and allowing you finer control o...

Re: Help making world-less episode.

You can do this directly in SMBX pretty easily, so I don't know what Wohl was rambling about. It just needs a few lines of Lua. Basically you'd link the levels together using warps like normal, and use a special level at the start that just reads a level name from SaveData and calls Level.load on th...

The value of weather is an integer while the value of the screenEffects is nil.
That's because the variable is "screenEffect" not "screenEffects".

A red block means a parsing error in the .json file. In this case, you have a trailing comma on the line that reads "value-max": 50,

"Running out of memory" is exactly what it sounds like. Your computer doesn't have enough memory to load everything.

Also you probably shouldn't have bumped a thread more than a year old.

You can literally just load handycam and set handycam[1].zoom, to set the player 1 camera's zoom level. A value of 1 is default, anything larger than 1 will zoom in.

Re: Stars

Stars have to be in different sections. SMBX saves collected stars by storing which section they are in, so if you put two stars in the same section, SMBX will consider them to be the same star.

This is the txt. file of background-4(smb3 fortress)
Background 4 is not SMB3 fortress, that's Background 3. Be sure to match up the number listed in the editor, not the number on the graphics.

Re: Why parallaxing backgrounds didn't work?

Hard to tell what's going on with literally no information. Share the .txt file. Show which background ID you're using in the editor. Show us what happens, and explain what you expected to see.

Without this it's basically impossible to tell what you've done wrong.

Re: Using The Original Switch Blocks (170,173,176,179) With New Custom Blocks

Just writing out words in code makes it treat that word as a variable - you need to wrap words you want to be treated as literal text in quotes. You also fundamentally misunderstand how event functions work. You can't write something like "onSwitch(yellow)" to make it only run when yellow ...
