Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

IIRC there's a bug with The Lost Woods but this can be fixed by editing exit 2 in that level. Also, who is the wizard? Fixed in patch 1. Download it. Playing Invasion 2 to test things, on the world map occassional the buttons lock up and it feels like a bit of controller lag until it returns. Mappi...

Playing Invasion 2 to test things, on the world map occassional the buttons lock up and it feels like a bit of controller lag until it returns. Mapping buttons is already done and it works normally aside from that interruption. Also I'm testing the new characters finally at the secret squirrel zone,...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Simply clicking Controller and checking the box made it easy to configure the controls in game, and thats done correctly.
I'm not used to all of the new interface yet and don't like asking too many stupid questions.
But I feel this one would be easier than trail and error.

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

In the main window that opens. When the program starts you've got it well set up lower left hand side with uh, episode broswer, home then configure controls.
Configure controls leads to an snes styled controller, under that it gives the option to simply check off a box for Controller. I'm using that

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Although the editor is superior to the original, its disappointing that it doesn't run without constant massive lag spikes on an average cpu. Turn animations off. Nice that actually reduced the lag significantly, I may continue my work. Have you encountered the controller cutting in and out between...

Re: Sequin Land Adventure ( Shantae x Super Mario Bros ) [smbx2 beta4]

I completed this episode a few weeks ago. So I had a bunch of thoughts on it, but I'll boil down what I thought into a couple of sentences. It has the qualities of a full blown SNES game from the 90's. The difficulty was excellent and enjoyable. I'm not great at scoring episodes but I'd give it 8.5/...

Re: What’s the most interesting project so far!

I've got 2 in progress but only about 10% done each. Mainly because I've been waiting for beta 4, the graphical conversion slows things down perhaps. Could be, 20ish users, constructing episodes right now. I don't know. 5 of those episodes would see the light of the forum eventually.

Re: Your opinions on joke levels.

Super Troller Bros is really tough but also super hilarious. Especially the first world. Imo joke levels are great and underused. As Cedur said though the good ones are rare. My first episode started as a joke episode but the humor was not well received so it eventually became a serious 3 year proje...

0/10

-edit-1/10. 1 point for the traveling bone of death, and simple end boss fight-
-edit- Ah I suppose since this is clearly a joke episode, it could get 5/10-

Re: Sequin Land Adventure ( Shantae x Super Mario Bros ) [smbx2pal]

Its good to see an episode finally using the walk offscreen option and also gates. The town is really good it must have taken a long time to assemble all the graphics. This episode already from what I can tell sets a good standard for new smbx episodes. However as much as I love the Pal interface th...

Re: A episode that is embarrassing to upload.

Thats all good advice. The only thing I can think that of really fixes a bland looking zone is not to be afraid to go back and destroy the really bland parts. Then remake them bigger and more rich. Not all progress is good progress, if you can think of something better while remodeling. Then most of...

Re: The Odd Star House

So this episode is pretty interesting and gimiky. However trying to keep all the files straight on installation was confusing as hell! Also the first game slot has a 100% save file included. Maybe I'm wrong, but I find when putting up a patch it might be best just to rezip your entire episode with t...

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Noob question here as I'm just trying out Pal right now.
Is there an easy fix for getting a control pad to work in the level test mode? Mine doesn't seem to automaticly work like it does for previous engines and I'm not easily finding an option to make the engine sense that its plugged in.

Re: Need SMBX 2 advice

Dude!! Thats a really nice touch! One more question if you will, I am just looking at the Pal version now and its even more impressive. (Kudos on that I understand you have done programming for it.) Is there much use for regular SMBX 2 or does the Pal version have closer compatibility to the engine ...
