Ah, I think the drawback is that an NPC's downward speed is limited to 12. Edit: Maybe it's 8?

Upon testing checkpoints, they don't actually reset if you die and enter another level. The code saves the level path, but never actually compares the saved path to the current level like it did in multipoints. Is that intentional? Yep. This is intentional. It seemed obvious to me, but...

If the loading screen with the lives count appears, that implies that it's a warp to a separate level. I'm almost positive you can't take NPCs to a different level even if that option is set.

Potions aren't working correctly, the section keeps defaulting to 1. The editor doesn't even save/load the value correctly for the potion in the grass container.

Some SPC music files have popping that wasn't there before. I'm using Hot-Head Bop from Donkey Kong country 2, the SPC from Zophar's Domain (original music files).

It looks like the normal ones are too fast. Notice how their timer is always an even number? Maybe their behavior is being run twice for some reason.
