Re: Where to place AI-lua files?

Anything that is inside the "setNPCSettings" call can be adjusted with npc.txt files. This code is from the red palace switch: local bigSwitch = {} local npcManager = require("npcManager") local palaceSwitch = require("npcs/ai/palaceswitch") local npcID = NPC_ID local settings = {id=npcID, color="r...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Well, you technically still see the launcher. I cannot even get as far as to comprehend how the launcher looks, what it has in store or what one can do with it. Also prevents me from ever creating a custom launcher page. :-P Anyways. Did you already try to use the "LunaLoader" directly? It is locat...

This sounds pretty much like the problem I have. I double click the SMBX2 exe, then it loads around a second or two, and then nothing. I never actually saw the launcher page or anything like that. I can only open PGE and testplay levels so far.

Re: Where to place AI-lua files?

Well, I tried that first but to no avail. Here is what I have put in the TXT-file: frames=3 framestyle=0 framespeed=8 What I want to do is having the "unpressed"-state being animated with 3 frames, while the "pressed"-state is supposed to not have more than one frame. But the TXT-file does not work...

Re: Where to place AI-lua files?

Well, shortly after I made the post, I figured that it could not harm to test exactly that, but unfortunately to no avail. I even have edited this code to further test things out: function bigSwitch.onDrawNPC(npc) if not npc.isHidden then local data = npc.data._basegame local pressed = isPressed(NPC...

Where to place AI-lua files?

Hello again. I like to change some details about the giant colorswitches, like the amount of frames, the amount of bursts and the time inbetween each burst. So I copied the palaceswitch file from the NPCs/AI-folder over to my level's folder and edited the corresponding values. But it seems that the ...

None of these new plant NPCs are working at the moment, so my guess is that they got removed from the tabs for that reason. They are just AI-less dummy NPCs right now.

Re: Coins with different values

Interesting to know. Though, the problem I have is that I do not know what lines I need exactly to create a coin-npc in lua, as there is no example I could use. The closest I could get, is the Sonic Ring Monitor and that is more like a Goomba than a coin. I am willing to learn but out of all the lan...

Coins with different values

Hello. I like to make coins that are worth different amounts of money, like a silver coin being worth 1 coin or a golden coin being worth 2 coins. I took a closer look into the lua-codes and ini-codes of the templates as well as some of the new NPCs, but I cannot really figure out how to accomplish ...

I am glad to be of help.

About breaking from the top: You can break the Kirby star block (only the normal one, not the "tough" one) from the top with a fire flower, but not from the side. This also applies for the breakable dirt from YI.

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

I understand. Also, I just encountered this bug when I hit a YI breakable dirt block that contains an coin: https://i.postimg.cc/5yH9WhNQ/hittable-dirt-item-bug.png forensic anthropology I dont know if it is of relevance, but I used a custom graphic over the original graphic. EDIT: The exact same bu...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

Hello.
I just found out that the giant time switch is bugged by default. It does not work as intended, acts glitchy (it has a 32x32 hitbox instead of a 64x64 one and displays incorrectly) and hurts the player when approached from the side.

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Thank you very much for your help. The problem is solved and the new switch color now works in the level without errors. I still need to test it on the world map, but hopefully everything will be fine. Also interesting is how the big color switch gets unpressed and usable again, as soon as the togg...

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

I like to ask for assistance on how to add a custom color switch including the switch palace for the world map. Adding them in the editor is no problem, but getting it to work in the level is not as simple as anticipated. I asked the Google document about it but the article did not well in explainin...

Re: SMBX2 BETA 4 Release - Feedback and Suggestions here!

I would like to use the button on the launcher to report bugs, but I am unfortunate enough to not be able to start the launcher. It just acts the exact same as the PAL launcher did for me, which means no reaction on clicking, double clicking etc. Anyways - Here is a screenshot of what I am getting a...

Re: Lowser's Conquest (relowserd!)

I just updated the toppost with everything I can provide so far. Now everything needed works again. No more broken screenshots and the like. About my misstatement of not making epsiodes in SMBX2 PAL: Yes, you are right about the details. However, to me it comes down to the same thing. If I were to w...

Re: Lowser's Conquest (First LUA-usage)

I would not say you need to wait til Beta-4, though I guess you are waiting to prevent future-proofing or what ever it is called? Looking forward to it though. Well, the developers of SMBX2 clearly state not to use the PAL-build for episode-making. And since I want to make an episode, I therefore s...

Re: LunaLua Tutorials Index

I just started to see how to paralax a background. This is actually really helpful and well-made, in my opinion. I can probably learn a lot from these tutorials. I will come back many times to see and learn more. Luckily I already made graphical sheets for this magic more than 3 years ago. :-P Thank...

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

@Wohlstand I tried that but it reacts exactly the same, which means first loading for about a second and then nothing. I highly doubt that it is an installation or download-error, as this problem persists, no matter if re-installing or re-downloading. Also, something regarding the rotating Bill Blas...

Re: Lowser's Conquest (future plans)

Greetings. For everyone wondering about my project, it is still being worked on and was never cancelled. I, however took a long break from the community and the forums in general, aswell as just not having an internet connection during that time. Another reason for my long inactivity regarding my pr...
