What I plan to do is shorten some of the stages to fit within the limits of SMW. This remake of the episode (or would it be considered demake?) would probably not be EXACT to the original levels of The Invasion 2, but many of them I feel can work as levels in SMW that are already at a decent size l...
But it could be possible, I mean, there are certain NES emulators that can run This rom hack so who knows? That has nothing to do with anything I said and not even with SMW hacking. You CAN change the resolution but it doesn't work properly yet. But the point isn't if it's possible or not, the poin...
Or by implementing a script that zooms out the camera. I'm not too skilled at rom hacking but somebody is ought to have made it. But that wouldn't look good, because since you can't increase the resolution, zooming out would make pixels disappear. It would look kinda like this: https://i.postimg.cc...
The fun part is working with the limitations. You would have to adapt some levels to fit the smaller screen and make some levels shorter, but that would be the cool part of a hack like this, because I wouldn't play it if it was a 100% identical remake of the original. Or by implementing a script tha...
What's up with the seemingly random holes in the Star Lord's head? ...which holes? The eyes? palette on the right looks super neat, but the shading could use a bit of roughening up. if you'd like, i'll show you what i mean. If you mean making a texture on his skin, I'll work on that later. I'm not ...
Is that supposed to be a text box icon? If not, do you plan on animating that? Because that looks like it's going to be a pain to do. Looks good, though I think the lighting looks weird in the middle. I might have to make another sprite for the head because I think this one is a little too small. B...
Five years ago I posted this unfinished playable and never updated it. Well, here it is now. Also, please don't notice how Raccoon Mario is lacking his ears. I have no idea how they disappeared. https://i.postimg.cc/mDGDFnsc/showcase.png Luigi possibly coming soon (... five years later ) Download
WIP of the main antagonist from my possible project.
His name is Star Lord, who is totally not a copy of Moon Lord from Terraria (it is) and he rules over the Star Road.
I had some ideas for a SMW-themed project inspired by SM63 but I don't think It's going to last. I usually give up on projects before even finishing the first level.
WIP background for a underwater level idea I had which I'm probably not gonna make anyway. https://i.postimg.cc/3x3XqD3z/abstract-ocean.png I don't understand why I give up on every single level I make. I have the ideas but I can't execute them, which is the reason I never really contributed much to...
Can you run the game when you click "smbx" inside the data folder? As I said, I can run the game normally, it's just the launcher (SMBX2.exe and SMBXLauncher.exe, which seem to be the same) that won't open. Also, as far as I know smbx.exe launches 1.3.0.1 without LunaLua. I need to run LunaLoader.e...
You have to manually draw the sprite with the eyes above the priority of your darkness environment (default priority is like, 0 or 1 i think?) I kinda made this with that idea in mind. Although I have some coding experience, I don't know much about lua and I thought this would be a good thing to tr...
Oh, I didn't know about that. That's very cool actually, thanks for the info, but I was thinking more like a sprite overlay where the eyes stay bright even in darkness, rather than actually emitting light. don't worry, that will happen too with how darkness works in the editor The available NPC cod...
Everytime I run the launcher, the process starts but the launcher itself never opens. I can run the game normally from the editor and the LunaLoader executable and everything runs perfectly. This wasn't happening the first couple days after I installed it. I already tried reinstalling it, but it sti...
Are the goomba eyes glowing? Yes. I think I can make them shine in the dark with lua. you don't even need lua, you can just use txt files for that. You can set offsets, colors, the radius, etc. Oh, I didn't know about that. That's very cool actually, thanks for the info, but I was thinking more lik...
I don't know why, but I like SMW-themed levels that look like they come from a SMW hack. I guess it's because I've spent way more time with SMW hacking than with SMBX. I also like the SMB3 NES look way more than the SMAS one.
That's pretty good but I think the difference of detail between the solid and background wall is a bit too important. I mean, the solid one is detailled a lot with the shading while the background one is very simple. Maybe adding one more color to the background wall palette? More detail isn't alwa...
