Re: Take me to Fungitown: VG Board Chat I

I just played 0°N 0°W, and it made me want to vomit. When I first played I really didn't like it, but for some reason I just cannot stop thinking about it. It's a memorable experience that I haven't seen before in a game, but I mean that in the weird modern art sense. Like, I guess it accomplished w...

Celeste for sure. Also i liked Deltarune, but sadly it's not comparable to Celeste.
To be fair, Deltarune is an incomplete game while Celeste is a final product.

Re: What are you reading now?

Right now I am reading through Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach Trilogy (Annhilation, Authority, and Acceptance).

It's a bizarre science fiction series about a topographical anomaly, and the efforts made to understand it. It's weird, but in a good way.

Re: Harder games that you played and felt anger

Not usually a hard game, but the Demontower side-game from Night in the Woods was the most satisfying agony I have felt in a while.

Re: Your Honest Opinion on Fortnite

I do not care enough to have a positive or negative opinion on Fortnite. It's a fad, and people are having a fun time playing it. It's not a work of art, but it isn't meant to be. Simply put, it's the "Mama Mia! Here We Go Again" of video games - An okay experience that's just meant to be fun — noth...

Re: Worst game you ever played

Looking at my Backloggery, the lowest rated game I have is Flow Free for iOS. A bland and uninteresting timesink that I would have dreaded to play for a week, or at least far less than the year-long commitment it takes to beat it 100%.

What's your Game of the Year for 2018

In 2017, I did a thread discussing a similar topic. But now that 2018 is coming to a close, I decided that I should bring back an updated version of that post. So, here we are. What was your personal GOTY for 2018? Like last year, the only limitation is that the game must have been released in 2018.

What is the dumbest thing you have ever done?

They can be funny, sad, or even embrassessing.

Either way, let's remind ourselves that we're all only human, and share some of the dumbest things we did.

Re: SMBX Site Q&A

Is there any way that I can learn more about the "turmoil" the staff talked about here?

I saw this a few days ago, but I'm lost on the context.

Have you read Concerning the State of DorfKirch? It was really good
The gods in DorfKirch were just people roleplaying as them, not the actual gods.

Also, Gods won 100%.

Re: The ''Jeff the killer syndrom''

Alright, I'm going to try to give a little bit of constructive criticism here. Since I genuinely cannot tell if this is a satire on creepypastas or a genuine attempt at one, I'm going to assume the ladder was your intent. Now to give yourself some credit, horror is one of the more difficult genres t...

Re: The game you were addicted to in the past

Nobody's probably heard of this game, but a few years ago I used to be totally into this game called "Luxor". It was like a tower defence game crossed with a match-3 game, and I used to play that all the time. I remember owning the second and third ones, but there were definitely more of them. I thi...

Re: Gaming Conventions

Not necessarily a gaming convention, but I went to London MCM Comic Con about 6 years ago and it was exactly as you'd expect - nerds everywhere, overpriced stuff for sale and people taking pictures with cosplayers. That's pretty much my experience at PAX East. It's a fun convention sure, but I can'...

Re: Things you don't get!

When it comes to writing, I don't get why people think that longer posts or essays are inherently better. While you don't have to necessarily dumb down your writing, there are a lot of instances in which a simple statement can be more effective at communicating your message than one that just drones...

Gaming Conventions

With PAX East happening this week, I thought this would be a good idea for a topic. Here you can discuss Gaming Conventions and Gaming Convention related things. How do you feel about them? Have you ever attended one, and if so - what did you think about it? Have a particularly memorable moment from...

SMW Styled NSMBU Grassland Tileset

I know it's not the most original tileset in the world, but here it is anyways.

Image

Please note that the SMW Mario, and the blue rocks background are not included in the download.

You can download the tileset here.
