Re: New to the forum. Would like to do a collaborative episode

I hated smbx2 at first as well but after using it and getting used to it I hated smbx 1.3 afterwards. But if you choose to use 1.3 in today's age you're just crippling yourself in design options. The newest version has much more vanilla options available without the need of including a custom anythi...

Better include a screenshot before the thread gets locked. Pretty sure it's mandatory to have at least one.

At least is there a way to make a level with moon physics? It would be cool with the jump higher as you hold the button.
With some lua scripting yes it's very possible. I did it in my episode. Although lua is beta 3 and above. If you're using 1.3 that's a no go for moon physics.

What version are you using? The newest version just plops onto the desktop (at least for me it does).

Re: Autumn Vanilla Level Contest 2019

I would give this a go but too busy with life and my halloween level I'm trying to complete before halloween. I would get my butt handed to me anyways haha. Good luck to everyone else though. Hope you have fun with this one.

Re: Mario's MASSIVE Adventure [SMBX 2.0 PAL Episode]

The world map border looks neat. I'm a fan of astronomical colors (if that makes sense). Everything looks good from what I see. I look to forward to giving this a thorough playthrough.

Re: Scoobert's attempts at level design

Not too bad for a first level. My first level was worse. It's been a while since I've seen anything with completely vanilla blocks. You must have used 1.3 for this one. The newest smbx version has extra blocks to help with the sloped wood blocks (though I can't remember if 1.3 actually has the block...

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

How would I go about to set a check if the player has harmed an npc? (Specifically NPC-209, Mother brain) I wanted to set "local Hit" from false to true if Mother Brain has been hit by a link sword slash. I've messed around with the NPC(class) here "https://wohlsoft.ru/pgewiki/NPC_(class)#Offsets" b...

Re: Super Mario DX

Wow 2.8 gigs. Would have picked it up to give it a whirl but dang, that file size can scare people away. Putting 30 minute music files in your episode probably not a good idea. Cedur says you're gonna rebuild. If I could make a suggestion, use smbx 2.0 and use ogg music files since you can loop them...

Re: SMBX2 PAL Release - Feedback, Questions and Bugs here!

Kind of a nitpick but for npc-556 and 557 (2 way and 3 way platforms) I figured you can change some stuff with a standard npc-556 (or 557) text document in your level folder from the defaultConfig tiltlift.lua. Wanted to suggest a setting you can throw in said text document to stop the 2-way (or 3-w...

Re: The Gloaming Realm

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It didn't feel like a SMBX episode. It felt more like a bonafide and original Super Mario Game with twists and thrills and excitement all rolled into one great adventure. I can't wait to see how the creator follows up from this one. 5 Stars. I'm glad you enjoyed t...

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Is there a page somewhere where I can look up these types of memory values?

mem(0x00B2C8B4, FIELD_WORD, -1)

I looked but must have overlooked it somewhere. (Btw thanks on help so far, forgot misc.resolvefile existed.)

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

I might be stupid but gonna ask anyways. I'm trying to play a SFX using lua. I've done this so many times but I'm having trouble somehow in the new PAL version. https://i.imgur.com/RvPZp2t.png This shows up every time I try to play it and have no idea why. Never had this error before so don't know w...

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Don't know why this isn't working. It's the dragon coin thing from enjl's video. https://i.imgur.com/cfPQ1JB.png Pretty sure this is all correct. (minus it's coinCounter instead of other thing) My problem is that the counter doesn't increment on collecting a coin. Something wrong in the script and i...

I get the same effect as the Maeru.

Everything in the circle is slightly blurry looking. You can tell by the orange mushroom on the left. The right side is warped while the left is fine.

I can deal with it though. Just wondering if this is what everyone else gets.

Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

Been looking to figure out how to use the darkness.lua and attach a light to an npc (npc-102 to be precise) but can't figure it out for the life of me. I only figured out how to do so editing the darkness.lua script directly. NPC.get keeps giving me arithmetic errors.

Re: [Grass/Shadows] Amiable Hills

Which is why this will be the last level I do. Either forever or for a while. I wanted to contribute but I'm out of ideas and I don't want to pull a gimmick for my older episode. Feel free to not use this one for slam. I wanted to make an easy level but perhaps it's just too boring as a result. The ...

Re: [Grass/Shadows] Amiable Hills

Shadows use foreground backgrounds and are not drawn with lua. You should be able to play this no problem. Only lua that is used is pipecannons. I never ended up using inputs2 which is leftover in the lua script though. I forgot to remove it but does nothing to gameplay in the level.
