Re: Walljumps.lua (v1.2)

So I tried using this API again and there's a couple issues with how the wall jump handles that's pretty unreliable and I don't know how to remedy them: • I can only walljump if I'm holding the button as I hit the wall, and I have to continue holding to do it. Even after setting forceRelease to true...

Re: TLOZ- The Wisdom Crystal Part 1

This actually looks quite good. It does look simple but that's not a bad thing. There are a few areas that look bland but adding an enemy or two, or maybe a pipe, would fix the problem.

Do you have any screenshots of the tileset actually used in SMBX?

Re: Mario's Kingdom Adventure 2: Search for the Stars (Demo is here!)

After playing through the demo, I can say you've got some good work done. The level design is pretty fun, if a little repetitive. Aesthetically, everything looks pretty good, though some levels could probably use more background objects. The only real problem is that there's way too many coins and ...

Re: My SMBX episode (reposted with screenshots)

Hmm... Which version were you playing on? I didn't include a world map on mine. Instead, it was a hub level that you are sent to, hub.lvl, perhaps that level crashes your game? Also, catmario.lvl is supposed to be unfair because it's supposed to be similar to this game: https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: My SMBX episode (reposted with screenshots)

Well, the world map doesn't work, and most of the levels just crash SMBX. I could only get catmario.lvl , redcoins.lvl , gameover.lvl , skybase.lvl , and switchascent.lvl to work. They were all short and pretty bland. Some levels, like skybase.lvl , seem to have missing platforms with enemies fallin...

Re: Video Game Costs

Prices wouldn't really matter as much if AAA games felt more like full games. You pay $50-60 for the game but then to get the full experience you also have to pay $5, $10, $20 more on DLC and expansion packs to feel like you got your money's worth.

Mega Man Maker - Share your levels here!

So I recently got into a new fan game called Mega Man Maker, which for those who don't know, is a really cool engine to easily build, share, and play custom Mega Man levels. Its design is based a lot on Mario Maker (and SMBX in that case) and it's just damn fun to make levels on. If you're intereste...

Re: THE SMBX CLASSICS COLLECTION (VOLUMES 4-7)

Now THAT'S What I Call SMBX

All jokes aside, it's actually quite cool to see how SMBX has evolved over the years, looking at all these oldies but somewhat goodies.

Re: Walljumps.lua (v1.1)

Is there a way to change the code so that you need to press the jump button again to walljump instead of holding it? Holding the button is pretty flimsy and unreliable, at least from what I've noticed using this.

Re: (Cancelled) The Ultimate Armada - One final update.

This is why you have a team for this sort of thing. Especially when it comes to ideas. Also I'm sure you'll have a lot more ideas when beta 4 comes out. We'll have access to so much more new content I've tried assembling a team before, and it's never worked out. I'd prefer to do a project mostly on...

Re: The Ultimate Armada - One final update.

Are you ever going to release the stuff you have left? It honestly looks like a great episode, you even uploaded it to the PROJECT HELP CENTER; the only reason i didn't reply was because i didn't know much about lunalua, i loved this project, sad to see it go. :( Most of it is in an unfinished stat...

Re: The Ultimate Armada - One final update.

Surprise, surprise. Here we are again. For the past few months I've felt completely void of inspiration to work on TUA. It's been a real struggle for me to even want to complete levels I started building weeks ago. I can't come up with cool ideas for bosses, level gimmicks, or anything that would wo...

Re: SMBX - The HighLands 38-A (SM & TM - Update)

The levels are nice and simple, which is a breath of fresh air, seeing all the wildly complex SMBX levels/episodes. Just make sure you don't make it too simple. The last two screenshots look a little empty; maybe add some pipes or sizables?

Re: 360 Degrees SMB1 Bullet Bill

Really cool! I think making the Bullet Bill turn 360 degrees is a nice touch. The one issue is that the "blank" side of the Bill should have an upside-down face and arm. Otherwise it just looks like its face is only on one side. It would look a lot better.

Re: Mushroom Kingdom Massacre

With such an edgy title I was expecting something not so great, but this does look pretty promising! I'm interested to see where you'll go with the open world idea. Maybe branching paths and/or hidden collectibles? The level design looks bland in some parts though. They could use some coins or platf...

Re: Project Help Center! (Team members needed?)

I've been meaning to get help with Lua to code some boss AI for my project (here). I hit a bit of a roadblock cause two of the three bosses I have planned so far need to be designed, whatever help I can get would be much appreciated!
