No, it's a LunaLua save file.
It's mainly from the old LunaDLL and not actually used nowadays.

Don't use the PGE Engine for testing. You have to still use the SMBX Engine for testing.

Did you get a message bpx about missing features of opengl? Because if you say than your computer doesn't support opengl, you should have got a message box and the rendering system should automatically go back to the original renderer.

PlayerSetting holds all informations about hitbox height, width, duck heiht and offsets of a character with a specific powerup state (i.e. Big Mario, Fireflower Link, ...). getCurrentPlayerSetting returns a "PlayerSetting"-Object which is bound to the current powerup state and character.

Personally it seems that the level file itself is somehow corrupted. Can you temporarly move your lunadll.lua outside and try loading it without any code?

Some corrections here:
1.) If you mute sound id 9 you have to unmute it afterwards. Yes it is global.
2.) If you just want to "vanish" an npc (meaning no sound and no effects), then you can use npc:kill(9)

It looks like a infinite loop. It seems so that a function call infinitly calls itself.
Do you have any events which calls other events?
Do you have a full crash log, or is it just the message box?

Most events can be replaced with lua.

Anyway, if you want to cancel an event, you can do that in onEvent:
