Re: Perfect SMBX Screenshot Thread 10

I mean, because I use camera Zones (thus no section warp pipes), I make the entire level.lvl in a single section. I had that idea too. The camlock API is great for Super Metroid levels, but the main problem here are the backgrounds and music. For example, in a Brinstar level you have the green Brin...

Re: Perfect SMBX Screenshot Thread 10

Is showing a layer with Layer.get("myLayer"):show() not easier to use here, if you put the NPCs in a layer? I don't use a layer for NPCs because I only need a single line of code to make a NPC spawn. If I use a layer, I need to place them in the editor and then NPCs would not spawn after I killed t...

Re: Perfect SMBX Screenshot Thread 10

I see. I have been using Enjl's CamLock.lua Api for Metroid styled areas, but I am still trying to figure out how to get spawned NPCs to respawn when the player travels from one room to another. I also wonder if it is possible to make a Map API instead of all of the tedious work it takes to manuall...

Re: Perfect SMBX Screenshot Thread 10

Unless he is showing multiple sections at once. Multiple sections at on e or not, if he did not include some type of block (she/he said lava in the previous post) there, then it would not make much sense at all. Yeah, they're multiple sections. I exported some of them to image with PGE, then I arra...

The following picture looks like one taken from the snesmaps site, but this is not the case. It's the map of my SMBX level which currently I'm working on. It's an HUGE image, so click on it if you want to see it at full detail. https://i.imgur.com/G7gRv80.png This goes to show how much I need to pr...

Yeah, it's a hard work. The level is not finished, this is only the half, and essential parts of the level were omitted from the screenshot.

Where did you obtain those remakes of Zelda themes? The Battle theme, Boss theme and the one from the hub. They're amazing! but I can't find them.

Re: FOSS Thread (Free Open Source Software)

FOSS isn't compatible with some business models, but it's not FOSS that's going to be held back by this. IoT devices are probably the most relevant example of how old models aren't compatible with current demand while FOSS is compatible. DRM and closed proprietary software as it exists now can't be...

Re: FOSS Thread (Free Open Source Software)

If AutoCAD is free and everybody can look at the source code, then there will be better alternatives to Autodesk's software which can make them put more effort into competitive matters. And that's a bad thing? Oh no, more effort is going into a product I am paying for! I didn't say it's bad. Obviou...

Re: FOSS Thread (Free Open Source Software)

When I talk about the market, I'm talking about things that are like the Coca-Cola recipe. Nobody knows it, and there are many competitors that try to make products like the Coke, but they aren't the same. Software companies and hardware manufacturers have their way to do things and make technology ...

Re: FOSS Thread (Free Open Source Software)

I think that there should be a balance between propietary software and free software. Stallman has his points, but his mind lies in an utopic world. Just imagine Microsoft turning Windows into free software, or imagine AutoCAD with a GNU GPL v3 License. That's never gonna happen. Developers and comp...

SM Room Before Golden Statues

Merry Christmas! I'm back! This time I'll bring to you another GFX Pack of Super Metroid, but this time is the Area Before Kraid in blue. In other words, the entire tileset of the room before the golden statues in Crateria. The Brinstar area before Kraid's Lair uses the same blocks, but in green. T...

Re: SMBX 2.0 Open Beta

I added Samus to an episode, but when I switch into a morphball, I receive an error of read INI file. The INI files of Samus need to be into the level folder, but I want to play with her across the whole episode without copying the files into every folder of the episode.

The offset of mount of Hearts is 0x16, so you can use the same method to display number of hearts in screen, or just add a HeartSystem which shows the HP in-screen. If you want to display the hearts like the normal HUD, it's a work a bit long...
