Sounds like you didn't install the patch correctly. If you just download the patch file, you need to extract it, and then drop the "data" folder from there into your original Beta 4 install. When you're then prompted to replace files, hit "Yes". If you don't have a Beta 4 install already, you don't ...

It won't break the level tester permanently, just until you close and re-open the editor.

You can play any level except for levels in the mario challenge folder, and world maps. Any file can be opened in the editor, but those few can't be playtested successfully.

You can't change the animation settings of blocks that were in SMBX 1.3 yet.

But in previous versions (SMBX2 MAGLX3 & SMBX2 PAL) I managed to play the MARIO CHALLENGE hub without any problems at the level editor. No you didn't. That has always broken things, though perhaps not in the same way. Mario Challenge should only be played from the episode selection in the launcher.

I have noticed you're trying to test the Mario Challenge hub. This is a terrible idea. That level is a special case, and will break the level tester. It should only be run from the main game.

The autoscroll in PGE only works in Section 0 I'm pretty sure.
It only works if you start it at the beginning of the level, and it's on the section the player spawns in.

Uh... Not only is that code using a mix of modern and HORRENDOUSLY outdated (I'm talking 4-5 years outdated) code, but it's also entirely unnecessary. You can just go to level settings in the editor and enable the timer there. This thread is almost FIVE YEARS OLD. There was no need to reply.

Anything that is inside the "setNPCSettings" call can be adjusted with npc.txt files.
