Re: Need help with lua? - LunaLua General Help

It's worth noting that the shogun level along with all of Willhart's other contributions will be removed in beta 4 (long story short, he's an unrepentant stalker) but the paralX library is also getting replaced with one that allows defining parallax backgrounds via ini files.

Looking for a world map eh?

What style? How big? Level count?
To fit SCC+ASLC levels
So should I take this to mean that the partial hub level I provided for the SCC levels isn't going to be used after all?

Re: SMBX2 (2.0 Beta 3)

Now that I think about it, we probably could just implement triangle block as a block that works as a slope when a regular character is on it and a spring when riding a mount. The wallrunning should still be done as a tweak library or plugin, though. The rotated graphics would require either redrawi...

Re: SMBX2 (2.0 Beta 3)

Mechdragon's shown interest in making Super Metroid ones after Samus gets redone, but the playable overhauls are going to be in Beta 5. I recall there being some some talk about adding more Zelda 2 NPCs in codehaus recently, but idk if anything came about from that.

Re: SMBX2 (2.0 Beta 3)

The thing with the Mystic Cave Zone tileset is that Horikawa gave Fire the okay and the other devs who were around at the time were mostly indifferent. After discussing it later the general consensus ended up being that even if the MCZ background is in the game, finishing incomplete tilesets and add...

Re: Debate: The Casual VS. The Hardcore

Now, hear me out here: Many people play easy games, like new Super Mario games, right? And it's very likely that they will call themselves a god at video games. You know what happens next? They play a "difficult" game like Mega Man, and die...and die..and die, and you get the point. And you know wh...

Re: SMBX2 (2.0 Beta 3)

Technically everyone should be able to access the claims sheet, it's just that only the devs can edit it. I never said anything about editing the resource claims sheet. I said he should check it out so he knows what is already completed. I was responding to pixelpest, and either he edited it to cla...

Re: SMBX2 (2.0 Beta 3)

We don't have any sort of extensive formal roadmap (at least as far as I'm aware), there's just the stuff we're aiming to have ready in beta 4, other stuff we're pushing to beta 5, and still more things that are just general long-term goals.

Blargh, I really need to kick this habit of doubling down with the snark rather than just leaving it at the first joke. I swear I didn't mean to make this another extended thing.

Oof, I'm sorry to hear that. Getting ignored sucks, it really does, and it's good that you're able to find a source of support in your university. I completely agree that creative communities as a whole need to shift to a more proactive culture and that there's been a disproportionate focus on aesth...
