Project Experiment

Postby patromaniac » Fri Jul 24, 2015 6:15 pm

I have a new custom level coming out and sheesh it's taking a long time to finish. :( It will be called the experiment.
1. Story: Basically it is about a mad scientist who kidnaps Mario and Luigi to form multiple platforming experiments. However, this is a lie. This whole time the mad scientist is trying to kill them. Can the bros escape the mad scientist and his death lab.
2. Troubleshoot: The game is almost finished but I need to either figure out how to make multiple checkpoints or turn it into an episode rather than just a level. I also need to figure out how to create a custom final boss, and what machine the mad scientist will use.
3. Due: No paticullar date, but I'm hoping by 2016 it will be done.
4. Let me know what you think. ;)
5. Screenshots (This is an early showing so the level design may change in the final game):

I'm not sure I'm making levels anymore.

I'm probably going to change it into an episode as that is easier than trying to figure out how to make more than one checkpoint. Basically splitting this custom level into multiple levels and and a few more sections to those levels. Well this will take awhile.

Update 2: I'm almost finished with the project, although I have ran in to some game breaking bugs on the last level. I still am working on the custom bosses and finishing the last level. But anyway here's some screenshots of the later levels.
Anyone into ice caves?

I'd add a background in the second screen. Also this project looks bland, you should add.more BGOs. The gameplay seem to be decent, though.
im bored

@RudeGuy07 It's supposed to be a dark room where one wrong step leads mario to his doom. I turned one of the blocks black to match the black empty background. Although, I might just turn it into a very dark background instead. Yes more bgo's might work better. Thanks for the suggestion.

Update 4: I've created a new hub world for this project. The levels' theme also matches the blocks around the entrance.

Last Update: This is the last update. There won't be anymore updates and the next post on this fourm will be the link to the game. Sorry It seemed I was overhyping this, but actually I just wanted to show the progress I was making. Anyway here's the pics.
(I was getting some blandness complaints, so I decided to remodile some sections).
