I still don't know which smbx is the official one, smbx 2.0? smbx 1.4.4? And which one is the better for do custom boss, custom npc or custom abillity? Thanks you

The last official version of SMBX was 1.3.0.1 (the last version made by Redgit[I can't remember if it was that or 1.3]) and every version afterwards are based on other people's creations.


The better one to do those custom things you're talking about is 2.0 Beta 3 imo, but you can try 1.4.4.

SMBX2 is the most "official" new version and is the best for all of the things you mentioned

The developpers of SMBX2 have recently been given an official usergroup (orange). 1.4 is an engine developped by only one person (called 38A) who is not affiliated with the community at all (or doesn't seem to be, at least) and who refuses any feedback or suggestions. 1.4 is also not compatible with anything else.

It's not worth to use the legacy editor anymore these days. Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why.

I might be wrong, but I think both SMBX2 & 38A can do custom bosses and custom npcs!

Yes, but SMBX2 has a better editor and programming API which makes both significantly easier than 38A

38A has graphical expansion so that might help if you need to use the same object in different graphics.

It's mostly unneeded though when you have a lot of NPCs and blocks to replace and is also a planned SMBX2 feature
