How do I make falling platforms in SMBX using events?

How do I make falling platforms in SMBX using events?

I was working on a SMBX2 level, and couldn't figure out how to make certain solid platforms fall down and out of the level's existence after standing on them for some seconds using events for my level (Much like in the 2 horrible GB/GBC bootleg, Sonic Adventure 7 & Sonic 3-D Blast 5*)! So can y'all help out a guy? I'll give special thanks once my level is complete! ^^"



*Don't look up gameplay of these 2 bootlegs, just take my word for it! :roll:

This has been done multiple times even in vanilla 1.3.0.1. Place some enemy on the platform so that the player sees it just about when he lands on the platform. Enemies can use the "activate" event field to trigger an event the moment they are seen.

Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshis are tools to be used and discarded.

Actually, try using an invisible Bowser axe so that when the player collect it, it triggers an event.

Collectable triggers would be superior to both of these methods.

I mean, do you want the platform to fall when you see it, or the platform to fall after you step on it?

Although SMB3 wooden platforms would be the best way to do this. Those platforms fall until they hit a line guide when stood on (or if set to be active automatically, as soon as they come onscreen).

smb3 Donut blocks and SMW grey platforms would also be valid choices depending on the nuance.
