Run-time error '13'

Run-time error '13'

Hello,
I've been recently trying to load a SMBX Level, but each time I clicked on the "Load" button, it showed me the Run-time error N°13.

I think it has something to do with the custom graphics folder, because it successfully loads the level without it. I've seen nothing wrong with the folder tho.
For some reason, I've seen that some people have the same error than me, and some other people don't. I don't really understand what's going on with that thing.

Does somebody know what the Run-time error 13 means? I would really like to find a solution...

This specificaly happens if a NPC text file has a Code in it that does not match to the whole coding system.

For example, if I have a Code that looks like this:

Code: Select all

speed=,5
It crashes SMBX with the Error Message "Type Mismatch". There are like unlimited possibilities that let it happen so make sure that everything you have typed in your NPC Text Files are correct.

Code: Select all

speed=5
Oh and I surely do not recommended to use Decimals in your code like this:

Code: Select all

speed=0.5

Make sure that you have checked every NPC Text Files to prevent "misleaded" codes that doesn't match with SMBX. This is why the Error is called "Type Mismatch".

You were right, one of the NPC text files contained decimals. And the level works now! All thanks to you!

You will CAN use decimals freely when you will install LunaLUA. We with Kevin has implemented fixing of this dumb error with a hack. When you have to use both comma or dot as decimal separator ;-) [Anyway, PGE Never had this dumb bug!]

Yeah, but I still don't know how to use LunaLUA or LunaDLL so that makes it problematic. :/

Just put it in your SMBX folder.

Simple and easy!

You even can choice Full installation and mark Include complete standalone base game, when you will get separated copy of SMBX, but with pre-installed LunaLUA

You just install LunaLUA. You don't have to write a code or anything, it works automatically.
