I usually do not like water levels in Video Games.

My Projects:

Custom World - Really Old Game, and pretty bad too. This was more of a experimental episode.

New Super Mario Bros Remaster - NSMB DS but in my style

Luigi's Quest - The Seven Trials - My Current Game I'm Working On. This is what I always wanted to make as a kid, and I've been working on this for 2 Years probably.

This is a really cool remake, but one question begs to mind: Why did you include an entire SMBX2 beta 3 folder with your episode instead of uploading only your episode. I noticed there were custom sounds in the sound effects folder and two battle levels, you do know you can use custom sound effects in your episode without altering basegame sound effects folder, right?

Mainly because of the World Map Music, but if I don't need the entire SMBX folder, then please show me how. That would be VERY helpful.
Also one vanilla song is replaced since you can't use 2 custom songs and replacing Mario and Luigi graphics crashes the game sometimes.

To fix your custom world-map music issue, you could easily copy and paste the music.ini found in the ini-examples into your episode folder and modify it to replace said vanilla song and world map musics with your own songs. I noticed that you already have a music.ini setup, but you only replaced the world map music and not the vanilla song.

To use your custom sounds, just drop all your oggs into a folder named sound in your episode, provided it's listed like this in your sounds.ini:
[sound=(number)]
name="name of the sound to replace - Jump, Shrink, etc"
(name of the folder)sound/(sound).ogg (custom sound inside the folder)

Note that it will only run in the regular SMBX2 game (Not while playtesting levels in the editor)

I'll also add that you make sure smb3overhaul.lua is in the episode folder in next update, as for some reason, it crashes without it. Also the mario and luigi sprites don't crash for me when I play the episode without the modified SMBX included.

For me if I have it in the episode folder or in scripts it still crashes. In fact it appears that you are using an older coding convention to call that script. The Episode will not run that script on SMBX2 beta 4. I'm not sure if it's just me but this episode is hard to play with this error. It is still possible to play as the game always defaults to the old hud but it shows an error everytime a level is entered.

That's a mistake on your part. Do you mean Beta3 or the Maglx3 version?

Looking at the screenshots and the download, it seems Beta 3 was used.
What I'm wondering is why this requires a complete installation override rather than just an episode folder. The battle levels aren't part of the episode after all and would be more appropriate for a battle level pack. Aside from the fact that we haven't gotten around to reintroducing battle levels to the SMBX2 betas yet but... yknow.
More curious is the fact that the archive isn't at all formatted in a way in which it's clear where what belongs. Something you could simply drag-and-drop into the worlds folder and everything just works would be much easier to extract.

Hi, I haven't been halfway into this episode and here are my thoughts.
The goods:
-Nice try with the Lunalua script
-Nice world map
-Nice sound effects
The bads
-Original gimmicks and tricks are removed/skipped, you can try it with Lunalua.
-Bosses are so lame considering the boss in world 5 isn't Petey Piranha, also, most of the original bosses are cool, but now it is just graphited SMBX default boss.
-Loading the level becomes laggy due to every level using the same Lunalua script that may not be necessary, try to work way round NSMBDS style over SMB3 style.
-Some oversight mistakes: Dropping Morton Koopa in the pit soft locks the game. Star power-up has an unlimited timer for no reason. SMB3 style screen fails to work causing the screen goes black

Anyways, although it didn't catch up with the original, I still think that it is a good first step into remaking NSMBDS.
Keep it up!

I think I'll just return to having the SMBX engine attached. It seemed to have less bugs with it.
