I understand what you're saying, but it needs to be clear that I didn't say anything about people "accepting their places" or "knowing their places". Haven't said it, never will say it. That kind of an argument implies superiority, which is exactly not what I'm trying to do here.
Joey wrote:Don't y'all realize that the concept of something being "none of your business" is one that exists a lot in the real world? You can't go up to your school principal and ask why another student was given a suspension. You can't go up to your coach and suggest that a player take a lap for doing something wrong.
This is what I was referring to when I said that. My concept of accepting your place revolves similarly around what you posted there: knowing what things are and aren't your problems and not trying to make something your problem when it doesn't concern you

Right, yeah. I just think that talking about people's "places" is unnecessarily condescending and doesn't do much. You weren't being that way, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew I didn't say that.

Also, while we're at it, I know my role is not the exact same thing as a school principal or a coach; I wasn't trying to say I have authority like that, moreso trying to illustrate what it's like to ask about people getting banned, being a staff member, etc.

But we still have the right to be treated with respect.

As long as one man goes hungry nobody should eat until everyone is full.

But really, what do you think is going to come from this? Sure, more people voted that they don't think the staffing is good than those that did. Things don't just, like, magically happen due to a poll. Have you even suggested any possible (and actually doable, not unreasonable) options that could improve this instead of just complaining?

Well, you're in the minority again then.

And sometimes minority still rules. It's a real world occurrence in everyday life.

And you still haven't presented any ideas for change that would increase the staffing reputation even though you seem so very concerned about it

Regarding my multiple posts in this thread alone about increasing staff reputation among the community.

Specifically? I scanned through a bunch of your posts and most of what I saw revolved around a frequent use of the word "pernicious" and complaints regarding the dismissive attitudes of the staff, but not really any solutions

Well I assumed you were reading posts instead of picking through them to attack, rather than have a discussion, on an issue that everyone mostly disagrees with you and the staff on. I shouldn't be so quick to assume stuff, so I apologize for being quick to judgment for that.

Sure. But you really seem to be avoiding the "name some solutions" part which if you don't answer, won't get us out of this rut of pointless back-and-forth chatter

Reprogram the staff to have less dismissive attitudes? I really just don't see much in terms of relevant solutions that would actually work or do anything, so if you could actual just state what they are instead of send me any further on this wild goose chase, that would be appreciated

Because, convenience
AeroMatter wrote: Just so it's clear this is my idea, as parts of it are ignored and it undermines the other parts:
- get rid of LJs
- get rid of reviews and especially the 10-score reviews
- people post their levels in one thread instead of in different threads
- get rid of the level subforums except for the Battle one (quality or otherwise outstanding levels can be featured in a sticky to separate them from the bunch)
- let discussion happen naturally as they do on the other forums
I don't think it's a coincidence that the two most "moderated" forums on here, Levels and FF&R, receive the least amount of activity and engagement either btw.

If you do a run down you'll see that we would be the same (or even better) if most of the staff were demoted, but it's mostly Mivixion and m3m3br0s that can go out quietly.

It's pointless talking to them[staff] most of the time because they have this weird sense of unearned superiority when talking about things. Have a problem with how something works? It's none of your concern. Is something being managed? That's none of your business. Normal people don't talk like that, and it's only this forum where some think they have status over a bunch of children and it's probably the most authority they will ever have. It's just weird, and silly and that's what's supposed to be holding this forum together.

Getting rid of Level Judges? Unreasonable. Removing subforums in Levels except for Battle Levels. Unreasonable. Let discussion happen naturally. Well, nobody's saying that you can't talk, so...Demoting some Global Moderators. Unreasonable, and are you really in a place to be requesting that or even worry about it to begin with?

EDIT: Oh, and forgot to mention: Posting all levels in one thread. Very, very, very unreasonable
