Discuss music here. More than just posting what you like, let's go in depth. Talk about what we like about different genres, instruments etc. I'll start

8 string electric guitars, 7 strings too. My god those things are absolutely beautiful. I'm a huge fan of that "djent" stuff so you can imagine how I feel about them.

Speaking of 7 strings, i believe this song was played on them

good song, instrumental. catchy. 8 strings can pretty much play this too but you get a bit more range and tighter strings for lower tunings
also if you hear the little bit in the song thats very related to this ;)

Well, probably you all know I'm a big fan of some of the songs from the band Arctic Monkeys. And this is one of my favorite. The rhythm (I really like the drum in this, like in all Arctic Monkeys songs. The drum gives a different vibe in this) is awesome. The clip of this song makes funny a lot with the fact mentioned in the chorus: "Why'd you only call me when you're high?" and this is a love/hate song, in the same time, and I think it's a criticism to this fact. Some indie bands are really cool, like Arctic Monkeys (Alex Turner is a acceptable writer from the actual days, it's a miracle).

My musical tastes:
- Brazilian rock (who I can't post here because obvious reasons).
- MPB (or "Popular Brazilian Music" in a translation).
- Rock (indie/classic/heavy metal): Queen, SOAD, Arctic Monkeys, AC/DC, Nirvana, some of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Beatles, some of Rolling Stones, Joan Jett, two of Oingo Boingo, some of Scorpions, some of Guns n' Roses, etc.
- Electronic: David Guetta, Daft Punk, deadmau5, Calvin Harris.
- Instrumental (videogame epic soundtracks).
- Some olds/classics like: Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper.

I'm that guy who really isn't into music. And when I'm in the mood to listen to a tune or two, I admire emotional instrumental music like the one below:
Spoiler: show
Or I enjoy slow and fresh pop music like the one below:
Spoiler: show
Otherwise, though, I can't say I like music that much.

Beyond, I can't really get into Arctic Monkeys and I don't know why :/ I tried so hard and got so far but in the end IT DOESNT EVEN MATTER

anyways i pretty much like most of everything else youre into

Kep, I can't get into super emotional music but occasionally I'll enjoy a pop tune. Honestly though I love Lorde.

Occasionally I'll jam some rap too, BTB got me into NWA

Alright then time to funk it up! I love that Funky sounds from the late 70s to the early 2000s. The Insturment I mainly listen for is the synthesised bass, "moog" I guess they call it but damn that has to be the best sound i've ever heard. Then there's what I like to listen to vocally, the Talkbox, much different from the vocoder or whatever pop music is using now a days. (gramps talking) I hate pop.

Here's an example of some funk from 2013.
Spoiler: show
and here's some pure funk from back in the day.
Spoiler: show
After that I like rap (westcoast and international mainly), I like to listen to mostly anything that's got a nice rhythm, nice vocals, and good beat.
Then there's electronic, I like some of that too.
Then some Techno, but only very very specific kinds.
Then Rock i guess, which I typically like if it's just the instrumental version.
Lastly, I don't care what language it's in, as long as it sounds good I like it. It could be Spanish, Portuguese, English, Japanese, German, etc.

In my country, some persons managed to transform funk into a rhythm that repeats during every song and it only talks about bitching (sex, drugs, ostentation of money, crime apology, etc.). It's probably the worst musical style that a person managed to invent. And the lyrics are terrible! But the funk you have shown is acceptable (probably).

I love to listen to that when I'm angry with anything (or with someone). And I love to repeat some of the phrases, like: "But now you can kiss my ass goodbye". It's one of my favorite Queen musics. The piano in the begin of the music and all the instrumental in this part is awesome.

"The song was written by Freddie Mercury and allegedly describes his hatred toward Queen's ex-manager, Norman Sheffield, who is reputed to have mistreated the band and abused his managerial role from 1972 to 1975".

To anyone into rock, metal etc. I have some progressive metally (not stereotypical screaming metal, not all metal is like that). Wonderful clean vocals and simplistic guitar work, I love this guy to death

It's just like me in the first time listening to Arctic Monkeys... But IDK, I really liked the vibe in the second time (some months after the first try). And I really love the Alex Turner voice.

More Queen. I love the piano (Freddie do this very well). It's probably one of the best Queen songs (in my opinion). And I love doing a dive deep in this song.

Am I the only one who loads game soundtracks onto my phone as mp3s and then listens to them, without any "actual" music in the mix?

Bits and pieces of it. I like what I've heard though.

I seriously recommend listening to it, if you like the bits and pieces you'll love it as a whole. It's so wonderful, what I like about them is that every album they've been different. They've seriously garnered alot of respect from me being a deathcore band. And this is probably their best work yet, something that previously would've gone to My Damnation.

But I accidentally got sent two copies of the cd xd

We have a brazilian cover of this. The most surprising is that it is very good and better known than the original version here. The name of the cover is: Marble's Astronaut (in a literal translation). The cover has a more calm rhythm.

Sometimes I listen some country and samba and other things.
But I'm really "bonded" with Gummibär. I like him 'cause his music is very catchy. The beats, the melody, the instruments.
And if you think Gummibär is just for little children, check this out:
Spoiler: show
See how a Hungarian music with a slight theme about Gummi's butt...

...can inspire a German 14+ video clip (PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK).
