What's so complicated about SMM2? Also i am sure you will get easily used to it, i doubt nintendo wants to make it complicated for people to use.

I dunno about all of you but I would like to see a beach theme, a volcano theme, pokeys, spikes, hammer suit, tanooki suit, poison mushroom, mini mushroom, a way to sort your uploaded levels, and a way better search system.

Would be kinda cool to see an ability to make an 'episodes' in it imo, even though it would ruin original concept.. overall it's pretty neat, too bad i can't try it out.

The day they add multi-level-pack support to mario maker is the day mario maker dies. People will start getting fixated on getting a pack done and neglect the importance of individual levels, and there will be a multi-level committment both on the player and designer end. The fact that mario maker lets you easily browse more levels from your favourite creators is the best multi-level support people could ask for.
I think the best way of getting close to this without the issues mentioned would be a level collection system similar to what you find on Level Palace.

All I want in Super Mario Maker 2 is some of the features from other Mario games, just as:
  • Enemies from Yoshi's Island
  • A variety of power-ups from every classical 2-D Mario game
  • More level themes

An option to like/dislike/terminate ( By Nintendo ) the levels you played. Reasons: To get rid of really garbage/inappropriate levels.
Better search engine eg Type words to find different levels instead of 16 digits code. Reasons: Better efficiency.
Highlight good content creator that makes good levels. Reasons: Play good levels instead of searching for it.
Host big Tournaments/Contest about Making The Best Levels/Beat the levels the fastest by Official(Nintendo)/Community

...and share some hype with the community. Im hyped for the Koopa Karts and the VS Multiplayer mode because I could make a Mario Kart-like level in Mario Maker. Also, not announced in the direct, but in the japanese trailer, you can switch themes with pipes, which coulf be useful for a Odyssey-like level.

Be constructive towards the game, share suspicions that aren't blatantly disprovable, cast lynch votes that aren't just a bandwagon vote with no explanation (we're all guilty of this one), ask people questions about their thoughts on things.

You don't want to post super often, but when you do post you want it to have content and not just fluff. Don't be afraid to share your thoughts, but also use your brain before you throw suspicions out there. I say this because we mislynched Taycamgame last game because he threw out a suspicion against me that literally made no sense in the context of the game. If he hadn't committed that brain fart, we would've been more likely to lynch one of the actual bad guys that day and not just a townie who didn't think before they spoke.

I watched the direct and the new course elements look pretty nice, I'm especially interested in the switch blocks since they open up so much possibility. I feel that the online multiplayer might be frustrating if you get stuck with people who have a much higher skill level/are complete jerks, but I feel that the ranking system will hopefully prevent the former. (unlike a certain other Switch game with online play...) The story mode looks at least a little bit interesting, but I'm not sure how I really feel about it yet.

Oh also, this is off-topic but it seems like Nintendo is trying to shine a weird kind of spotlight on Toadette recently, as if she's gonna become a frequent character. I'm not against it though, but it just seems strange to me.

I watched the direct, and I really liked all the new elements. The only thing I'm concerned about is level codes. You know, those 15 million thousand passwords that you have to type in to search for a course. Level codes are already confirmed, obviously; but I want a system where you could use a level code or a keyword. idk about you guys, but that just makes sense to me.

I thought the Direct was amazing. My favorite parts included co-op creation and play, Endless and Story mode, the four playable characters, the crazy car, and Boom-Boom being a "mad lad." Just as I did with the first Super Mario Maker, I'll be sure to create many levels while also using SMBX. Both coexist nicely.
