1 The first castle from World 8 in SMB3
2 Tubular (Special World)
3 The final level from Star Road
4 The blue cave levels from Iced Land in SMB3
5 Almost all levels with auto scroll
Feel free to say about your most hated Mario levels

SMB1 castles because all you do is dodge flamebars and beat Bowser at the end and it's really repetitive in SMB1 remakes.
Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshis are tools to be used and discarded.

And I was just playing some New Super Mario U Deluxe yesterday evening. Of any mandatory levels, the airship between Worlds 7 and 8 might just be up there. I got to the first checkpoint without getting hit at all.
Then came the tilting platform, and things suddenly went downhill. I don't think they based any earlier levels around that platform, and suddenly you have to auto-scroll past the flames. After some trouble, the green ! block appeared in an inconvenient spot, so I'm glad I didn't hit it by accident. I think I've figured it out now, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't even get the Star Coin yet.
The battle with Bowser Jr. was a bit weird, but it wasn't that bad. It's just the middle of the level that ruined things.

Purple Coins in the Bone Pen from Super Mario Galaxy. It's pretty easy to get stuck between two pieces of bouncy meat, which wastes a lot of time. Doesn't help that said time limit is one minute.

Um, I should've mention this b4 saying the lily pad secret level in SMS, but can we also include areas and/or levels from other Mario games BESIDES the 2-D and 3-D platforming Mario games in this thread, just for some variety? If the answer is yes, here's a long-ass list of my most hated Mario levels/stages from not just the 2-D and 3-D Mario platformers, but from the RPGs, Party games, Kart games, Sport games and other games:
- Space Zone level 2 (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
- Roy's Castle (Super Mario World)
- Yoshi's Valley (Mario Kart 64)
- World 3-8 (Super Mario Bros. 3)
- Rainbow Castle (Mario Party 1)
- Syrup Castle Chapter 5: The Final Battle (Wario Land 2: The Stolen Treasure)
- Castle Bleck (Super Paper Mario)
- Tiny Huge Island Super Mario 64
- Stage 35 (Parsley Woods) (Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3)
- Eternal Star (Mario Party 1)
- Secret Lily Pad Stage (Super Mario Sunshine)
- Mario's Break the Targets Stage (Super Smash Bros. Melee)
- Tubular (Super Mario World)
- Space Land (Mario Party 2)
- World 1-4 (Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels)
- Shivering Mountains (Wario World)
- Dr. Mario's Break The Targets Stage (Super Smash Bros. Melee)
- Booster Hill (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
- Flopside Pit Of 100 Trials (Super Paper Mario)
- Lemmy's Castle (Super Mario World)
- Red Brief J Showdown (Wario World)
- Birthday Cake (Mario Party 1)
- Koopa Troopa's Beach Resort (Mario Party 4)
- Wario's Castle (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
- Fahr Outpost (Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door)
- World 5-3 (Paper Mario: Sticker Star)
- Peach's Castle (Past) (Mario & Luigi: Partner In Time)
- Bowser's Castle (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga)
- Crystal Palace (Paper Mario 64)
- Nose Deck Mini-Game (Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)
- Fiery Cavern (Wario Land 4: Mystery Of The Golden Diva)

So Lemmy's Castle makes your list, and so does Roy's Castle, but Larry's Castle does not? It has Magikoopas and the block "snake", and it may have the strictest time limit for its length and gimmicks. In my most recent run of SMW, Larry's Castle was the only level where I ran short of time, finishing with only 30 seconds left.
I thought that Lost Levels 1-4 would be the least hated of all the castles, and I think of it as the only "normal" castle in the game. (Even 2-4 has a drop at the beginning which can ruin the fun for some people, and the power-up block is both invisible and too high to grab a Fire Flower.)

I haven't got that far in SMW atm! But I'll add it to the list once I get there in world 7.

The only frustration I had with Lost Levels World 1-4 is the corridor of fire bars and Bowser's flames being on ground level every time I played LL on SMB Deluxe! As if the game doesn't want me to reach King Bowser with a fire flower/super mushroom at that point!

Any ghost house and most water levels. Boos are extremely annoying and I hate moving slowly and imprecisely. Mario Odyssey's water levels were an exception, but only because I can capture the cheep cheeps!

SMB3’s World 4 Airship, it’s not hard really, but STUUUPIDLY slow, like, the scroll speed is so low that is boring.
My episode lol:

I think this can be said for nearly every autoscroller though, not just SMB3 4-Airship.

Every Shadow Mario chase episode from Super Mario Sunshine is obnoxious.

I somewhat hated Chapter 8-4 of Super Paper Mario, because it's easy to get lost

I will say that most of SMB3's autoscrollers aren't that bad. Even 1-4, which is of course an easy level, doesn't feel very slow.
The NSMB games' autoscrollers, on the other hand...
(Oh, and 7-4 can go and get shocked by a Jelectro)

And in SMB1 8-4 the castle maze were pretty hard and annoying and would can easily get you a Time Over if wasting too much time on it.

OMG, I just said that the lily pad riding gimmick level from Super Mario Sunshine was 1 of my least favorite levels in any Mario game! Btw, do you hate the lily pad level as well?

The levels in Super Mario Advance 2 are ALL the same as the original Super Mario World!
