If you mean holding a solid NPC in a ceiling by standing on the floor and releasing run to glitch the NPC through a wall; then yes, that also works with Toad. However, that glitch is making the run slower than the best it could be since the player has to run further to get the key. Dropping the key does not help at all and actually makes it slower. Then, there is the matter of the clip at the beginning being really tight and frame perfect to even get the fastest time. Too early and it is a dead run. Too late and you lose milliseconds; although, it is closer to losing frames than anything else seeing each frame being 15.6 seconds. The level is a pain to run because of that frame perfect timing at the beginning.
