Hey, I noticed that a lot of things are incredibly overused.
Like sertain graphics and soundtracks
Here People can post their opinions on what things are overused.

IMO. Kirby music is incredibly overused (Still cool though)
Especially songs like "green greens".
I'm tired of this back-slapping "Isn't humanity neat?" bullshit. We're a virus with shoes, okay? That's all we are.

Any graphic that claims to be useable with default SMAS graphics. The Community GFX pack is the worst offender here on that.

Its not an inherently bad thing that your released graphics is well-liked and used a lot in your own projects but if your project aims to be a unique experience (read: have a unique identity) is when and why people get concerned about x graphic being overused.

The easiest solution would be to use existing graphics on the Internet that are less-often seen here and that break the SMAS graphic style that is pervasive in this community. The other is to learn graphics design then not release your graphics lest its contextual value be diminished.

Level design style is a different problem since it has a different goal than graphics, because you cant really claim a style on level design let alone be inspired by what you personally think its the closest estimate of what is good level design.

Boss Rushes, SMB3 Bowser Reskins and, of course, SMB3 grasslands. I mean, SMB3 is the only good one better than SMW (thinking of something not so controversial) has the most beatiful Koopa.

The default graphics aren't bad. Custom graphics are just much more flexible.

Well you're not exactly wrong so idk why you would get a harsh reply. I think there is some extra charm in vanilla levels that are built well because they are rather limited and makes people creative. At the same time though, Marina here made a ghost house level for cc11 I think it was and some of the applications of CGFX there were honestly amazing so it goes either way.

Going to make a second post here because something about these kinds of topic just became apparent to me.

I do expect what may come out of this and the sister topic (and its reasonable to expect so since I recall it happening to influence other communities like SMWC and MFGG) is a restriction of the use of resources by people who are often sick of seeing the usual with an implied "I don't want to see it in your SMBX/Mario fangame project anymore.", which I honestly think that isn't the way to go around to promote change. I may be shot down for this post by others because of the ideas contained, but shouldn't we ban topics like these because it encourages people to be authoritarian on what kinds of resources people must use for their SMBX/Mario fangame projects?
