I was generating the full lists today and became suspicious that the gimmick might be a bit overwhelming. Although it is only 1/6 of the total score, is being encouraged to use five different elements a little too much? Just fine?

I already have some alternative solutions in place to remedy the gimmick if the general opinion does sway heavily one way, so feel free to answer these openly.
I don't think this is too restricting or a problem at all, except maybe for "Location 2". I would also like to get some clarification on the "Verb" category.

The gimmick category is worth a total of 20 points. Currently, the gimmick provides everyone with 5 different lists of words to use, with each list being worth 4 points. For each list, one word needs to be selected from it and needs to be implemented into your level to gain points from that list. How well you utilize that word will affect how many points (out of 4) you earn in that list.

If you don't utilize one list, then you automatically lose 4 points in the gimmick category and in your score altogether.

At the moment, the verb category provides a list of verbs (such as "jump," "accelerate," or "destroy") that need to be expressed/implemented into your level. For instance, the term "accelerate" can be expressed by an intense auto-scroller that steadily increases speed.

To make note though, the Verb list is currently being evaluated as to whether it should be kept or not. So just to clarify, the gimmick is definitely not in its final state as of yet.

Honestly, if any list had to go, I say it would have to be the NPC list. Then again, I like the verb colome the most

I seriously don't see the issue with the NPC list. Doubling down on one type of NPC could honestly bring out really creative results.

But you get a choice of three different NPCs and aren't restricted to building your level solely around it. It's kind of the equivalent to deciding whether you want rexes or spinies in your level. You go with what works or what gives you inspiration.
I guess I'm a little confused. You are limited to only those three NPCs (by NPCs I'm guessing you mean enemies) or you have to use at least those three NPCs?

Also is there a name gimmick involved this time?
You have to use at least one of the NPCs, and you can use any others. And it does not look like it has been named yet.

But thier's only a few npcs.

Sign-ing up does not immediately get you beta four, you can get it publicly.
