Bump Time!

I wonder, has anyone ever made there own SMBX level/episode/project based off the flash game, Tower of Heaven? I always wanted to recreate some of the gimmicks from that frustrating game! :twisted:

Mario RPGs I owned: 08/12

Main Goals in Mario RPGs (04/11 goals accomplished): show
  • Complete Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • Master all Bros. Attacks in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
  • Collect all 256 cards in Super Paper Mario
  • 100% Paper Mario 64
  • Complete Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  • Finish Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story in under 24 hours worth of playtime
  • Play through Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door in a BP only run
Current amount of $$$ until I get a new Windows 10 Laptop: $708.00

I would like to implement some of the gimmicks from the deceased fangame Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. Maybe just the megaman enemies, especially the bosses. Killing Napalm Man with a jump over his head, damn, it was so fricken' cool.

Gravity flip is very hard. A Captain Viridian playable would literally be easier to make. No need to handle upside-down jumping, and if memory serves, no gradual acceleration.

I'd love to recreate the incoming chomps from YI, but there's too many things to account for as it stands now when it comes to their creation. Their array where they'll land, the fact that they'll smash ground, etc. Just too complicated.

I think the Beta 4 Thwomps could make a decent version of the Incoming Chomps.

From what I know, you can alter the setting of what types of blocks they can break. If there's not an option to break ANY block, I don't think it would be too hard to add. (I assume there's a table with block ids? is table the right term?) I think referencing the players X position to determine where they land/spawn isn't too difficult either. I think the hardest part for me would be having them jump from the background.

Hmmm...I probably saw on Discord like months ago, but I've forgotten if so...is there an option to have Beta 4 Thwomps or...King Bills break ANYTHING?

Not without modifying the code, though that *can* be done on a per-level basis with a local copy of the API placed in an NPCs folder.

I know how the movement in Sonic the Hedgehog games work. But still, that'll make an interesting SMBX episode imo
