Hello everyone, you may have noticed that there has been some turmoil recently surrounding SMBX and its sister communities. This post is supposed to give you an idea of what the staff has been doing to deal with it.
Firstly, there have been quite a few changes to the staff team. PixelPest, Spinda and I have assumed positions as administrators, while ZeldaMaster12 will be stepping down. Waddle is taking a break from his duty as moderator, and we are sad to announce that Panda will no longer be on the staff team. The new chanops on the SMBX Discord Server following the application process are Ace, Sanct, ShadowStarX and Electriking.
I would like to remind everyone that we as the staff do our best to keep the community safe and comfortable for everyone to participate. We deal with reports on an individual and context based basis. Nobody is favored and we do our best to enforce the rules, especially when serious concerns are brought to our attention. We have dealt with everything to the best of our abilities. While none of us are perfect, we do strive to do the best that allows this community to operate without trouble. Also, we acknowledge that the forum is popular with younger members and guests. This makes safety and swift action our priority, and we have no tolerance for any sort of bullying or harassment that occurs among people anywhere linked with our community. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, and mockery has been and will continue to be clamped down on.
As for the problems that have arisen in the past few months:
The staff is currently working on ways to better meet the needs of the community, including those who have a harder time than others with communication. It is our hope that we can continue to work at our best to ensure that SMBX's best days are still ahead in time to come. Tension has come up amongst the staff, and between other communities. We aim to stop any issues or misunderstanding between anyone with full respect and with the responsibility these conversations call for.
We would like you to remember that communication is key, and that if there are any concerns or questions from your side, you may feel free to message us at any time. In the end, the staff is here to make sure that everyone here feels welcome.
Thank you for reading.
