SMBX BiWeekly 2 (SMBX Episode Projects Journal)

For those of you who don't know, there is an SMBX Projects Discord made by Yoshi021 (https://discord.gg/7hCmNBE), where you can share your project assets, ideas, and designs and receive feedback live from that discord.

Recently, Yoshi021 had this idea to start a journalism thing on the server's projects it hosts. We currently do not have plans to expand to content elsewhere but that might change in the future. At the end, the journalism team consists of me, Yoshi021, FlatKiwi and TaycamGame. It has a post every Sunday on the discord if you want to check it out earlier than the forums, and I will be mirroring the news each week on Wednesday except for the first 2 already written which will come out Wednesday (1) and Friday (2). Yoshi021 gave me explicit permission to make this thread to bring to light news in a centralized place about projects.

Without further ado here is weekly 1 in the below post:

Note: The structural outline of the post will change in weekly 3 due to there being so much already.
Note 2: Names are listed from most contributions to least contributions that week.
Note 3: Feedback to improve the journal entries quality are very much welcomed

It’s a fine day in summer, but it’s a even finer day to read about SMBX news made by Eclipsed75 and Yoshi021.

SMBX 38A Projects
#marios_wonderful_world Kestertank is designing a level that utilizes tall grass hiding the player, an idea inspired from 7namesam, and other on-screen npcs that works like this. Check this gif out for a preview

#smbx_through_time_2 PeaMix has designed final boss music for this projects. Check it out in his channel and jam out to some rocking tunes.

#spicy-mario-bros A new demo has been released for this project, check it out on the smbx forums viewtopic.php?f=90&t=20313

If he went with kirby sprites from the start then the inspiration would've been more subtle but we'd quickly go back to very blatant copies of the idea once paratroopa generators are placed in tall grass either way.
The main thing I'm concerned about is the idea being recognised as an idea of whoever did it first, and since I think Sam's level isn't released yet people who don't know about it might think that this level had the idea first, and that Sam's the one copying it. So if Kester gave credit on the discord that's cool but that kinda stuff should probably be included in these roundups for clarity's sake.

I thought I’d seen that gimmick somewhere before. iirc it was in codehaus. I’ll see if I can get jester to maybe use a different graphic or use something similar instead.

I do not know when that was uploaded since I do not know the order of those numbers, but I have seen the same gimmick before 2018 by RPGMagician for SMC, so I am not sure how it is either doing it first, but regardless, I agree with Yoshi021 for it being generic. Graphics are different but the foreground grass is not that new: I screenshotted so far up so the date can be seen. If I took it lower however, you can see the taller grass.

I edited in the journal thread since its the same graphics and in the server and thanks for informing us. It's impossible to catch every single thing so I really appreciate you pointed this out. Sorry I'm a bit late to this, but I really cannot be online that much recently due to damaging my arm. Yoshi is dealing with the moderation side of things for the projects discord as I'm not a mod, and if I remember correctly, he's planning to use the same gimmick but different graphics. I may be wrong about this since this is info from around 2 weeks ago stored in my head.

btw i didnt made a level neither used with that gimmick what i did is i forgot his credit while posting this gif and the news did a typo.
