21 seems like a pretty fair "next step" as the contests grow in popularity and good levels are brought to the table, but going from 17 to 41 seems kind of ridiculous, so let me just entertain this thought another time:

Just like then I have no difinitive proof of any backhanded shenanigans happening, but the result seems pretty unsportsmanlike. Surely the 20+ new people that did vote would care about more than just one level, or would not care to participate in the voting at all if they hadn't been prodded.

Also comparing the numbers across months like this it does seem like an element of manipulation of interest tends to be present... though the sample set is still small and in the past, the high ranking levels were always similar in quality and vote count.

I just manually reviewed all of the votes and the amount of people who satisfy the following conditions is: 20

- In the Novaverse server
- Did not vote through discord
- Only voted for one level

The only people who voted for this level that don't satisfy the conditions are the following excluding self-votes since the self-votes of top two levels canceled out.
- A person new to the community via my server
- A person who never joined the Novaverse server
- A person who only voted through youtube
- A person who previously did not vote for Eri's level in a prior poll

Therefore if you exclude the votes from shenanigans that did happen the actual vote count should be reflected as such:

Yes, Eri advertised his level around and explicitely asked for votes. Still got enough "fair" votes though. I watched the vid at least and also voted Core (Bubble Skies) and Sanct.

I also support removing the mid-result.

I am so happy i actually won something, i worked really hard on my level, i went through a 4 days deadline where i had to work on my level around 12-14 hours a day and sleep like 5 hours a day and i was barely accepted in lotm because of the lotm deadline, but i was very lucky that eclipsed actually accepted my level and that i won this contest, i too support the removal of mid-results. I hope everyone had fun with the contest and i am looking forward to the next lotms.
But i doubt i would win the next one since there have been already way better levels released than what i will do for this month but at least people will play my stuff which always puts a smile on my face.

Try winning properly next time, I'm so done with your emotional manipulation bullshit, you didn't win anything, you begged your dear server to vote for your level because you were in a position of power which let you do so, the way you beg for attention and bring up your unhealthy designing ways in everything you do has never made anyone feel sorry for the extremely hard-working and amazing eri7, because it's not something awe inspiring or even remotely "good", maybe if you weren't busy trying to be the next big thing in smbx by copying everyone else and smashing all the pieces together, you'd realise that there's more important shit than just getting attention in a really small community. You're almost an adult and you act like a child, I can't put into words how disappointed I am.

Before you start telling me "You're just salty because you didn't win", of course I'm salty that someone who manipulated the polls got first place, who wouldn't be? I would've been fine with losing if it was a fair contest, you might not believe me but I see no reason why you wouldn't.

Since it was requested, Eri7 is now perma-banned from the Level of the Month Poll.

I just had to look here after hearing about this in Eclipsed's server and actually got curious about something related to the LotM.

I know this punishment was issued upon Eri upon request and that I have no power in these, but tbh, even for a self-punishment, this seems a bit extreme for a first offense. (At least, I think this is a first offense.) While Eri definitely shouldn't have advertised his level like crazy, this (seemingly (What do you mean I should know? I haven't been following these, okay?)) is only the first time such a thing was brought up and actually affected things. A punishment was in order, but given that I think this is the first time this happened and the first time Eri rigged the results by promoting his level, I don't think the punishment fits the crime here.

If you ask me, the maximum sentence here should be disqualification for this time and a ban from the next poll only. The disqualification was fair enough as the ads left a huge gap between 1st and 2nd, and I'm assuming there was lots and lots of advertising for Super Simon. Trying to get more votes by asking for members of a server you own indeed should be an offense that can result in you getting banned for at least one poll. However, (yes, I'm saying it again) this was the first time Eri did that with that result, so a 1-poll ban would sit much better than a permaban imo.

And...welp...while I'm at it, I might as well say it. I believe punishments should NEVER be issued to someone upon request. I do think Eri only went straight for permaban after reading Sanct's post, but I'm a firm believer that severity of punishments should only be decided at the discretion of mods. They're the ones that have the power to enforce the rules and should know the rules well enough to determine actions taken. Trying to issue your own punishment, I feel, could lead to you getting a bigger punishment than what you actually deserve. Believe me. I know from experience. In a place I'm an admin of, someone asked me to ban him after he caused drama, and I rejected the request and instead left him off with a warning. On top of it being the first time he made things get out of hand, the drama wasn't even that big and he stopped himself before it got much worse.

I do support the Eri disqualification given the fact that he promoted Super Simon like no tomorrow, but I feel that since this was the first time he did that (...I think...) and this was definitely the first time such rigged the results, he should be allowed to participate again starting in LotM May as long as he knows what he did wrong. This self-punishment just seems too great imo.

Will do so, there's no requirements for who has to vote it's just that you can't vote multiple times

This was pretty exciting! I really like the other levels featured, and I am pretty happy my level was featured as well!
