About the prerelease, it might've been a joke (considering the bugs like Klonoa not knowing how to go through a pipe) or some fanservice.

You guys are taking it WAY TOO SERIOUSLY.

You missed it? You wait. It's not like 80% of everyone here got it.

Seriously, that 'release' is half-broken. Asking for the devs to release it again means that your version will be obsolete in a few hours as soon as a bugfix comes in. It'd add unnecessary clutter.

So, how about you respect the devs' decision and wait like a good doggie?
I was there when Link was added, SMBX 2 was announced (it was a joke, including stuff that you'd play as Redigit, you'd have to pay for it, etc), when those two admins banned like half the community...

I'm using the same avatar as back then.

This is what is remaining in Beta 3 for release:

Code: Select all

BS can get stuck on noteblocks and coinblocks.
BS does not have doublejump on Tanooki.
Music.pause causes problems when resumed (p-switch music)
NB bombs are invisible after switching costumes and back.
NB exit level by pressing shift does not seem to work on keyboards.
Snake still has vision cones on plants and rinkas.
Credits may still need work. (Not sure how much is left)
Bowser hud graphics are broken.
Moving the hover button on Rosalina to jump
Moving the hover button on NB to jump
Fixing Megaman's powerups
Allow Megaman's powerups to be customizable
Fixing the drop bomb bug on NB when he climbs a ladder
Finalizing which blocks will be in release
Trailer
Website
Just so you're aware. No time estimate, but like I've said before - it's a lot of little things. We keep finding stuff each time we get close to release.

Also on my list of "things to do for Beta 4" is going to be making the start menu customizable (and adding an exit level feature...). But we don't have the tech for that yet sadly.

Cool. I do have three things that I think need fixed please.
1. Magikoopa's projectile should sparkle
2. Mega Man's Ice Wall should have playerblocktop=1 like in Rockman and Forte
3. Mega Man's Rolling Cutter colors were mever fixed I think???

It actually was fixed.

Also, will you implement the NPCs that require replacing another one to use as standalone NPCs?

Really tempted to just make a general graphics thread for all of my graphics instead of just making individual threads for each of them.

Which ones are you referring to?

Starman is now NPC-293 if that's what you mean.
Ideas are useless if you can't make them real.

Also, I hope that Kil's Phanto an Axon's Tryclyde and Fryguy will be refined (such as Tryclyde being weak to fireballs and Fryguy being weak to iceballs) next.

I don't know about Triclyde being weak to fireballs. But Fryguy being weak to iceballs, I see where that is going, considering Fryguy is made of fire.

There are some NPCs in folders that can't be accessed, as well as the Time P-block.

There are reasons for that. Those are not currently stable enough to be properly included.

Gah, I can't get to test stuff on the new editor, I keep getting the "failed to find SMBX window". Any help? The legacy editor's autoscrollin is broken.

You have to open the Legacy editor to test from PGE. For autoscroll, did you set the start boundaries?

Not on the prerelease beta, unless you're talking about previous versions.

Yeah. For the most recent beta you just press F5

Good to know it's been fixed in the newer versions. I tried opening SMBX episodes but not opening the other editor xD

Yeah. For the most recent beta you just press F5
And you don't even need 2.0 for that. You just make sure you have a recent version of lunalua and download the SMBX Integration config pack. Then PGE will ask you where your smbx folder is and you can play using that SMBX exe. Simple as that.
Ideas are useless if you can't make them real.

I'll append: to have LunaTester work (to let it run level testing in the SMBX directly), required LunaLUA 0.7.3.1, but now available 0.7.3 (so, after getting 0.7.3 please take "night/dev build" and patch with it your 0.7.3 to get 0.7.3.1). Because updated LunaTester API will work only with latest LunaLUA.
