It seems to have some compatibility issues with the 0.7.3 BETA, such as this perplexing mystery:

As you can see, most of the HUD completely fails to draw. What's weird is that the P-meter arrows get placed, but never unplaced, making it look like the arrows bleed into the screen. The "onHUDDraw" tweak seems to fix most of these issues, but not the one with the P-meter; I ended up working out a solution by using the "Graphics.drawImage" function. But, as you mentioned before, the "onHUDDraw" tweak causes the timer to go down even when the game is paused.

I would spend more time investigating this issue if I could, but right now I don't have the time. I'll let you know if I end up making any major breakthroughs with this. Until then though, good luck patching out those bugs. ;)

Yes, I'm aware it's outdated. This was made before onHudDraw was created so the newest updates probably broke a lot of the functions, thus why I'm updating it.

I tried using the minimal version in my episode again, but now the ui graphics wont show up.

What did I do wrong? I put the smb3overhaulMIN folder and smb3overhaulMIN.lua in the lunalua folder just like the readme said to.

Are there any similar alternatives? If not, is there a way to fix it? I like this mod so much id do it myself. The hud itself works, it just doesn't load in the graphics.

I may take a look at it today and see if I can fix it. I already checked it a while back and iirc it uses Graphics.placeSprite which is like super outdated. I'll see what I can do.

Edit: So I just checked and I think a complete rewrite may be the best course of action here?

I know this is a huge bump, but I just realized the easiest solution to this issue. Use an older version. Simple as that, right? I wouldn't be able to use any new functions on it but the SMB3 remake would work, and that's all I really want.

I can confirm this does not work

these are the problems I see.

- p meter does not decrement when mario runs out of power
- hud does not display when paused
- mario stops if full speed animation when p meter is still full
- mario stops flying before p meter runs out
- timer is not accurate to the second
- timer does not display "times up" when it runs out
- seems to lag game


I have some suggestions regarding the api too
- split the players, hud, and goal card into separate scripts making the hud only handle the display of the goal card
- make option for mario's leaf require tapping to fly and glide
- make option for fire and hammer unable to be aimed aka fireball down hammer up
- make option for tanooki statue require down and run buttons to be pressed
- make option for smb3 and toad and peach with smb3 hud
- make option for smaller camera you can use these overlays
- force camera to be side by side always 1p on the left and p2 on the right

I know this is a big bump, but I was wondering if there was any way to get this working in SMBX 2.0. I have been trying to get it working, but I cant figure it out.
