I just played through all of Mushrooms of the Sky, and I must say it was kind of enjoyable, but it can be improved in many ways.
Enemy placement felt off and completely random, and during the start of the level on the second bounce mushroom, the two parakoopas and paragoombas are placed in a way that it's quite easy to get hit by them if you aren't patient enough, which was quite annoying. The level was also generally too easy in my opinion, and if the level was made harder, I feel like my enjoyment of the level would increase.
The propeller block gimmick felt forced and I feel as if the propeller block wasn't included in the level, the level itself wouldn't change in any way [except for missing said propeller blocks], and the switch block covered fire-firing propeller block felt completely pointless, and was given to the user too close to the end of the level. Overall the level could of done better without the propeller block gimmick, or it could've been used more creatively.
The section with the checkpoint in it felt like an eyesore, as there were too many mushroom stems, and some mushroom-heads weren't even attached to stems! On the topic of the checkpoint, it itself felt pointless, as the level is honestly too short to need the checkpoint.
Power-up placement felt pretty okay and spaced out for how short the level is, and I had no issue with how the power-ups were placed across the level. Coin placement also felt pretty great, I had no issue collecting them either. Maybe you could of put more coins in blocks?
The area right before the door leading to Section 3 felt empty and void of any NPCs. Even a few coins or block placements would've made the area more exciting to traverse across.
My last issue with the level is the graphic """clashing"". In my opinion, the graphics of the level don't mix well with each other. Try to remain consistent with one game theme, like SMB3 or SMW, as I saw a lot of both themes being used in the level. This little quirk itself doesn't effect the play-ability or the fun of the level, but I thought I'd bring it up, just to inform you.
I'd give this level a 4.5 out of 10. The level is somewhat enjoyable, but needs to be improved on in many aspects in order for it to be better.
Please don't let my mostly negative review of your level discourage you! I see potential in your level design, and I'm sure you'll be able to improve your design skills with enough practice and time. I hope my review encourages you to become a better designer, and to help you gain knowledge of errors you can fix in the future.
