why sad? Is that supposed to deprecate 38A? Did you even think of whether the concept of this project would be equally executable in X2 as of now? What's the problem with it being 38A? For the record, I used to slander the engine a lot like a year ago, mostly aiming at its creator rather than its users, but still I was wrong and unjustful with that.
A port to X2 would be really cool no doubt, but it would only happen at the creator's choice (or permission).
I agree on the gfx pack part, though it would be mostly equivalent to just copy the sprites from the episode folder once it's out.
