Before I say anything about this project, I suppose it goes without saying that my previous project, Super Mario Redemption, is cancelled. The levels were too long and boring and it was just trying too hard, in more ways than one.
Anyway, Super Mario: Quest for the Gem Shards is an episode I've been working on for about a year and a half, and now the first two worlds are done, I thought it was time to release a demo. Those of you who know me through YouTube have probably been waiting for this, and it's here now (well, a demo at least). I've tried to put as much effort as possible into this episode, and I hope you enjoy it.
Quest for the Gem Shards is a much more "standard" episode than my last one. No stars, no Star Coins, no long and non-linear levels, just bite-sized, side-scrolling linear platforming levels, and plenty of them. I've tried to keep all the levels fair in the difficulty department, varied and of a decent length, though I suspect some of them are still on the long side. I've also tried not to stick to cliche level and world ideas (e.g. grass, snow, beach, etc.) and tried to be more imaginative.
There should be about 90 levels once the game is complete, but that won't be for quite some time.
This game doesn't make much use of Teascript; I don't know how to program in it at all, and all scripts are either "default" scripts (i.e. Yoshi's flutter jump) or made by other users. Scripts made by other users are credited in the file "Graphic Credits.txt" in the folder of the level that uses them.
It probably goes without saying that this is a 1.4.5 episode, and it won't work on 1.4.4 or lower or on 2.0.
P.S. If you haven't downloaded 1.4.5 yet and when you do your antivirus thinks it's a Trojan, don't be alarmed. It's safe.
Story
I will upload each level as soon as I finish it.
I've also created a Discord server where you can chat with me about the episode: https://discord.gg/ZU4qRUzPaJ
I'll probably also be posting updates here.

(This is an old demo; when I released it, the episode was called Super Mario Rainbow. I changed the name to avoid confusion with another episode.)

Demo 2 (Worlds 1-4) is currently in progress and is relatively close to being ready to release. I can't promise anything, but it should be out by the middle of the year (June-ish sort of time). I know it looks like everything in Worlds 1-4 is done, but I'm currently in the process of redesigning some of my weaker levels from Worlds 1 and 2, which might take a while.
Progress (approximately):
World 1: 9/9 levels complete
World 2: 9/9 levels complete
World 3: 11/11 levels complete
World 4: 11/11 levels complete
World 5: 0/12 levels complete
World 6: 0/10 levels complete
World 7: 0/10 levels complete
World 8: 0/9 levels complete
World 9: 4/9 levels complete
