I was falsely credited for beta testing the first one. Might as well sign up to beta test the sequel of it.

If you're worried about the carrot lua being non-compatible with the legacy version, you could include the lua code in a separate folder and make it optional to use instead. If not, it could just act like a regular leaf without the code.

Very interesting! I've played SML2 to death on my Game Boy back in the day and I loved it. Definitely going to keep an eye on this one.

Again
how much progress is done by now?
Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshis are tools to be used and discarded.

I've been playing around with LunaLua to improve it, otherwise I'm more worried about school atm. Luckily summer break is very soon.

This looks like a really cool episode, as Super Mario Land 2 is a underrated gem in the series. I'd love to be a beta tester for this!

That's a really cool nostalgic game (even though I didn't really play the game yet rip)! I'm seeing some remakes of some of SML2's levels, and now this full project being remade? I'd be interested to beta test this project-remake of yours!

Thanks to everyone that's liking the looks of the project so far! Sorry I haven't said a lot lately. I've been running a little behind. However, I will reach out to some people that are asking to beta test. I also am hoping to get graphic designers in as well to get caught up. If anyone wants to be a graphic designer and can help recolor SML2 sprites using the SMB3 palette, I would gladly appreciate their help!

I like the look of the project so far, and it's cool seeing a the SML2 look too. I know exactly how you feel when it seems like you're running behind. It's natural, and I trust what you produce from this episode will be great.
Check out my current project, Super Mario Country:

I think you can make your own SML2-based episode if you like.
Also I may be a reliable beta tester but I'm nowhere a productive or even big designer.

You're perfect for testing
If we can get the level files for this old thing, and a few level designers, and sprite artists we'll be set!!
I will also work on some sprites (specifically tree zone's sap, macro zone's plant pots, and some custom space zone enemies)

Yes I hate to say it, but my motivation to do SMBX projects has just gotten very low. I've basically moved on to full on programming, and I'm trying to deal with hand problems as of right now. I may ask someone to take care of the project for me because I do want to see this project finished someday.
